Position Overview:

We’re looking for an innovative, collaborative and hardworking professional to join Affirm’s Corporate Affairs team! This individual will join the Securities, Corporate Governance & ESG team and support all facets of Affirm’s Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) program, including working cross-functionally to develop ESG strategy, coordinating the collection of emissions data and leading our reporting efforts into various ESG frameworks. The ideal team member will have a strong background and knowledge of ESG reporting with a demonstrated ability to work closely with both internal and external stakeholders.

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with cross-functional team to develop, implement and evolve Affirm’s ESG strategy
  • Establish a clear, prioritized activity roadmap that successfully delivers Affirm’s ESG vision, including adoption of policies and/or processes and alignment with external benchmarks
  • Coordinate continuous data collection efforts to generate key environmental performance metrics at regular reporting intervals, including the adoption of an environmental management system
  • Lead ESG reporting efforts, including submissions into TCFD, CDP and other reporting frameworks, creation of annual standalone ESG reports, and oversight over inclusion of ESG disclosure in Affirm’s SEC filings
  • Work cross-functionally with communications and investor relations teams to develop clear, consistent and effective messaging regarding the company’s ESG strategy, objectives and progress
  • Proactively engage key external stakeholders, including proxy advisory firms and rating agencies, to ensure that Affirm’s ESG program and disclosures are meeting expectations
  • Collaborate with Associate General Counsel to prepare materials to update Affirm’s board of directors and its committees on progress towards various ESG objectives
  • Develop and manage ESG website content
  • Manage external resources to provide subject-matter expertise, where necessary

What we look for:

  • B.S. in business, the sciences, sustainability, or a related area
  • 7+ total years of experience at a publicly traded company
  • 4+ years of experience working directly in ESG, sustainability, and/or investor relations, including substantive knowledge of various external stakeholder expectations (i.e. regulators, investors, proxy advisory firms and rating agencies)
  • Experience with coordinating reporting into various ESG frameworks, including TCFD and CDP
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and successfully execute long-term projects
  • Ability to influence at senior levels across the organization and experience interacting with a public company board of directors
  • Effective written and oral communications
