The team also promotes and engages in open dialogue on ESG challenges and opportunities with key stakeholders, including regulators, shareholders, clients, brokers and employees.

Purpose: The Sustainability Analyst is responsible for collecting and analyzing ESG data and translating it to meaningful information for internal and external stakeholders and includes preparing sustainability updates/reports and using a variety of research methods to evaluate and provide recommendations for corporate sustainability initiatives. This role also collaborates with colleagues and external partners to be responsive to requests and activities that help advance AIG’s sustainability agenda.

About the role

What you need to know:

  • Collect, monitor, analyze and publish relevant sustainability data and metrics and assist in target-setting and communicating progress against ESG goals.
  • Support research and analysis across a range of ESG topics and metrics, including GHG emissions accounting and reporting,  materiality assessment, thought leadership/whitepapers, presentations and other relevant projects, as needed
  • Effectively communicate with various internal and external stakeholders related to inquiries and requests for information; collaborate with colleagues/subject matter experts to obtain relevant information.
  • Manage the compilation, data verification and review of sustainability-related questionnaires, surveys, filings, RFPs, including AIG’s annual CDP submission.
  • Support the development of AIG’s annual ESG Report, leading content collection, identifying new disclosures, analyzing areas of improvement and performing gap analyses.
  • Research and review sustainability-related conferences, awards, and ratings and rankings indices and surveys, supporting AIG submission process where applicable.
  • Prepare necessary administrative, operational and statistical reports and presentations for both internal and external audiences.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external summary documents, FAQs, talking points, and presentations.
  • Support maintaining internal and external sustainability websites as needed
  • Assist in monitoring emerging sustainability trends, programs and issues to ensure proper benchmarks are established and maintained and develop valuable presentation materials to summarize data.
  • Support efforts to advance AIG’s path to net zero and climate change strategy, including quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Collaborate with Citizenship and Diversity teams to develop ESG metrics that can be used across the spectrum of ratings/rankings entities.
  • Support the AIG Employee Sustainability Network meetings, communication, activities (e.g. Earth Day), summits, employee challenges, recognition opportunities, events, etc.
  • Research partnership and coalition membership opportunities and help manage current memberships, including UN Global Compact, CDP, TCFD, and Council for Inclusive Capitalism with the Vatican.
  • Manage sustainability administrative functions, including supporting various ESG working groups and general support of the Office of Sustainability.
  • Promote visibility of Sustainability within the enterprise and support special projects, as needed.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in data collection, analysis and reporting required, with exposure to ESG, sustainability and CSR programming and reporting strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks (GRI, TCFD, SASB, UN SDGs.)
  • Superb skills in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Solid writing and editing skills
  • Skilled at relationship building and management
  • Attention to detail, and consistent and accurate follow-through on multiple projects in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing demands, while managing time effectively to meet deadlines
  • 2+ years of sustainability-related experience

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or Sustainability-related field preferred
