About this opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), the Environmental Sustainability Manager will support and lead various Align Technology environmental sustainability programs. They will provide support and management to various sustainability projects and programs. As a highly collaborative contributor they will be a key partner in supporting the development and implementation of the company’s sustainability program and social responsibility initiatives. This role will be an individual contributor.
In this role, you will…
· Champion, maintain and communicate the company’s ESG framework, long-term strategy, roadmap, policies and programs to assure that they are robust, current and appropriate.
· Serve as the subject matter expert on sustainability and future developments related to corporate environmental responsibility.
· Work with a diverse set of stakeholders (R&D, Manufacturing, Marketing, Legal, etc.) to complete sustainability reporting and planning to completion to communicating improvement projects.
· Help manage and track supply chain sustainability issues and parameters.
· Support the global environmental program to include management of GRI and CDP reporting.
· Keep current on industry and regulatory updates to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local regulatory requirements.
· Keep current on EU financial and U.S. SEC related reporting requirements.
· Keep current on developments in the ESG field and help position Align Technology as a future leader in corporate sustainability.
· Track and maintain metrics related to sustainability and resource management.
· Manage the company-wide sustainability database which will include training site personnel, ensuring all necessary data is entered and review properly and presenting on the data.
· Manage all external stakeholder requests and surveys, including those from investors, NGOs, government agencies and suppliers.
· Success in this role is highly dependent on the ability to collaborate and develop great working relationships with manufacturing and R&D teams, and agency representatives.
In this role, you’ll need …
· Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering with 7+ years of experience.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to successfully multitask; excellent attention to detail and deadlines; well organized.
· Ability to critically think, analyze data and generate effective tactical plans based on data analysis.
· Experience in managing a sustainability database.
· Experience in support of large-scale manufacturing environment and ESG projects.
· Experience with KPIs and directly managing sustainability reduction programs; including GHG emissions, water resources, waste reduction and recycling programs.
· Direct experience with collecting, calculating and data management and analysis of GHG Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
· Direct experience with CDP, TCFD and Corporate ESG disclosures and reporting.
· ISO 14001 program management experience.
· Experience with completing lifecycle assessments.
· Experience with analytical tools and ESG software.
· 10% – 20% travel, worldwide.

Base Salary Range: 131264 to 145129
