Job summary
Are you an experienced program management professional who is passionate about sustainability? Are you interested in a high impact role at the world’s preeminent cloud computing company?

The AWS Global Sustainability team is looking for a Sustainability Program Manager to identify, scope, and lead programs in support of our Climate Pledge goal of net zero carbon by 2040. The individual will be responsible for scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating across organizations, driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks, and process changes.

The ideal candidate will have strong program management, analytical, and process optimization skills. They will work across teams, organizations, and regional boundaries to drive program success. The candidate will have broad sustainability experience including knowledge of carbon accounting and environmental science.

Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:
• Build and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive programs to completion
• Coordinate numerous disparate programs for centralized tracking and management
• Develop and implement programmatic reviews to ensure timely communication of project progress across internal stakeholders
• Work with program managers and business leaders to communicate the impact of critical business initiatives
• Develop and implement key performance metrics (KPIs) for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones and performance across projects

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science or other Sustainability-related field, or 6+ years of additional industry-specific work experience;
• 5+ years of experience in program or project management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced degree in environmental science, engineering, business or related degree (MBA/Masters/PhD);
• Multidisciplinary knowledge around sustainability and climate change
• Proven track record of managing large projects from start to finish, including project management, data gathering, problem solving, and communicating recommendations and goals across multiple leadership levels of an organization;
• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders while meeting tight deadlines;
• Experience working with stakeholders across both technical and business functions;
• Proven ability to interface successfully with senior leadership and internal stakeholders;
• A passion for sustainability and a willingness to innovate at scale;
• Possess excellent business judgment;
• Excellent written and oral communication;
• Be a passionate self-starter
