Position Overview:

Position Summary

The position is responsible for supporting the advocacy, partnerships, measurement and programs that will enable the plastics industry to achieve their sustainability goals and more effectively track and measure success. The position will support several member teams and implement technical and environmental programs as well as track and measure success. The position will lead collaborative partnerships with key value chain organizations, including government. The position is further responsible for developing measurement programs for industry success and analyzing macro industry metrics to track progress against ACC goals. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Plastics Sustainability.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads direct engagement and collaboration with many of the Plastics division’s key value chain partnerships.
  • Executes plan for enhanced measurement of plastics recycling metrics and progress towards the industry’s 2030 and 2040 circular economy goals.
  • Leads life cycle analysis projects to measure the benefits of plastics as well as plastic applications. `
  • Oversees production of technical and economic reports to support ACC advocacy to policymakers, regulators and other key stakeholders
  • Provides direction and day-to-day oversight of critical technical and environmental projects that advance markets for plastics.
  • Conducts legislative and regulatory advocacy, including meeting with and providing written and oral testimony to regulators and policymakers.
  • Assists with the management of several member-led teams with key workstreams on measurement, metrics and environmental performance.
  • Represents, as needed, ACC before a broad range of key outside stakeholders at industry events, conferences and meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two years related experience with business, trade, government, political or policy advocacy organization.
  • A motivated go-getter and self-starter with the ability to work independently on a variety of complex matters.
  • Ability to prioritize key projects and responsibilities while managing multiple vendors, technical projects, stakeholders and member requests.
  • Ability to cultivate, manage and leverage high quality stakeholder relationships for successful outcomes.
  • Ability to be responsive and implement strategy, direction and action plans in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate and present effectively to key stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of business, economics, sustainability or policy.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Ability to travel several days per month.
