Position Overview:
Job Description: AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a talented professional with Sustainability/ESG expertise to join our team and lead our sustainability efforts. This individual will have strategic responsibility for AMETEK’s ESG activities and will work with colleagues across the company to implement AMETEK’s sustainability and ESG policies and programs. The individual will manage relationships with external ESG reporting agencies and have responsibility for AMETEK’s external ESG and corporate sustainability reporting, including developing our bi-annual Sustainability report, website disclosures, KPI reporting, and other ESG disclosures as relevant. They will oversee the regular review of data summarized by ESG ratings agencies and make recommendations to strengthen AMETEK’s position. The individual will also help drive internal sustainability initiatives and facilitate the sharing of best practices and thought leadership across our businesses.
The position requires both subject-matter expertise, strategic and tactical program management, collaboration across the company, and engagement to build and maintain internal and external partnerships. The individual will be the company’s primary liaison with external ESG rating organizations, managing the inputs to these rating systems, and developing recommendations for ESG program improvements. The individual will also develop and recommend programs and actions to AMETEK’s Sustainability Steering Committee which is AMETEK’s governance structure for cross-organizational delivery of ESG commitments, policies, and programs.
Role Responsibilities:
- Serve as leader for ESG/sustainability reporting, benchmarking standards, monitoring trends and priorities, and making recommendations to enhance AMETEK’s data collection and reporting methods.
- Project manage the company’s Sustainability report development, working across the organization to collect data, write and publish the report, including relevant framework disclosures.
- Manage external Sustainability reporting, including audit and disclosure of data, KPI’s and information to reporting agencies.
- Manage AMETEK’s relationships with key ESG rating agencies (ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics, etc.), ensuring that AMETEK’s ESG performance is accurately communicated to and understood by investors and other key stakeholders.
- Develop and manage AMETEK’s sustainability messaging on our website and social media.
- Partner with Legal, Environmental, Health & Safety, Human Resources, Finance and others in updating annual disclosures (Proxy, 10K, etc.).
- Ensure implementation plans are effectively managed and milestones are achieved.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree required, ideally in Sustainability, Data Analytics or Environmental Sciences; advanced degree a plus.
- Minimum of 5 year of professional experience in sustainability/ESG or similar fields, preferably with a multinational, decentralized organization similar to AMETEK.
- In depth knowledge of various reporting frameworks (e.g., SASB, TCFD, GRI), and third-party rating firms (e.g., ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics)
- Highly organized with strong project management skills.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills required with ability to track, measure, audit and analyze information.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable, moving and managing projects with differing objectives, milestones and deliverables.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage communication across multiple levels of the organization.
