The Supplier Diversity Manager partners with the executive team in advancing AMN Healthcare’s DEI philosophy and driving Marketplace DEI initiatives. The Supplier Diversity Manager will be accountable for AMN’s Marketplace DEI strategy that includes AMN’s vendor diversity program. The Marketplace Diversity Manager will directly collaborate with AMN’s clients, suppliers and associated vendors and subcontractors to advance our collective DEI strategies.

This position interacts with team members at all levels and numerous functions of the organization, including executive leaders. This position must develop strong relationships throughout AMN Healthcare, our clients and suppliers. She/He/They will facilitate business partnerships with diverse suppliers (certified minority-, women-, veteran-, disabled- and LGBT-owned companies) while identifying business opportunities to ensure the success of the program!

Responsible for evolving and implementing a strong program foundation via extensive cross-functional collaboration, analyzing efficiency and driving optimization of diverse supplier interactions. Success will come from demonstrating strategy, execution, positive relationship building and proficiency in holding partners accountable based on measurable success criteria.

Reports To: Director, Sustainability & Social Impact

Primary Location: Dallas or San Diego

Job Tasks:

  • Partner with Director, Sustainability & Social Impact and internal business leaders to evolve three year plan for Marketplace DEI to continue to mature AMN program and drive industry change (including setting annual goals)
  • Work with business leaders to align DEI strategies with clients and support RFP responses
  • Accountable for vendor diversity reporting and leading expansion of AMN’s diverse vendor network
  • Help catalyze supplier, customer, and industry DEI performance
  • Lead AMN’s Marketplace Diversity Committee, and help lead AMN’s Diversity Champions, a group of 100 team members
  • Collaborate with AMN’s Marketing and Communications team to communicate AMN’s DEI initiatives and performance externally and internally
  • Collaborate with AMN’s Social Impact Manager to support varied community. organizations that align with AMN’s DEI strategy

Education, Certifications & Experience

Minimum Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Minimum Experience:

  • Experience in leadership role of supplier diversity program in corporate setting
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills required. Excellent social skills, strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Strong influencing skills to lead to best practices, standardization and support of program
  • Demonstrated experience communicating strategies and results to all levels of a sophisticated matrix organization
  • Experience communicating and training personnel on the application of supplier diversity principles
  • Ability to collaborate and drive difficult decisions among business partners

Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years of procurement/supply chain experience supporting buying categories and strategic sourcing in large scale organizations and large amounts of spend
  • Experience with sourcing and developing small, women and minority owned business

Work Environment and Culture

  • Work “Hybrid” within the encouraged work hours and schedule including required meetings and timely attendance.
  • Work performed primarily in an office environment, consisting of light to moderate physical activity, including use of computer, telephone and/or other office equipment.
