Reporting directly to the Global Chief Procurement Officer and partnering with to the Global Chief Sustainability Officer and their team, you will develop and implement a new global supply chain sustainability strategy.
You will have the opportunity to lead Arcadis’ supplier engagement activities in support of the broader global sustainability strategy by developing the full breadth of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors in the supply chain. You will partner with Arcadis divisional customers and lead functions to implement CO2, Water and Waste supplier engagements and translate supplier activity impacts on Arcadis ESG and Health and Safety metrics. This includes identifying the key suppliers to engage with, researching their publicly reported performance and goals and maintaining the related questions in the supplier engagement surveys.
The Global Procurement Sustainability Manager will develop and maintain supplier engagement performance metrics and prepare content for Arcadis external sustainability reporting. You will have the opportunity to work independently and with stakeholders in a matrixed environment to manage and solve complex medium and large-scale issues. You will have thorough attention to detail, solid work ethic and drive, and the ability to recommend innovative solutions to complex problems.
This role will identify opportunities, options, strategies, trainings, and other engagement activities that will improve supplier performance that will reduce Arcadis Scope 3 CO2 emissions, improve water resilience for Arcadis commodities and reduce materials sent to Arcadis that end up as waste.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with the full breadth of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors in the supply chain.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience driving lower cost within a sustainable context, and deep understanding of procurement management, principles & contracting processes.
- Knowledgeable of broad trends related to environmental affairs and supplier engagements.
- Ability and experience applying analytical skills to develop appropriate organizational responses, programs, and actions.
- Results driven and strives for continuous improvement. Motivated by a high sense of personal performance expectations.
- Experience working across global business functions and internal and external collaborators.
- Experience developing the business case and plan for enterprise-level Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals, including strategic and financial analysis.
- Produces deliverables promptly and proactively anticipates future needs.
- Proven ability to identify, analyze and objectively problem solve.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- B.A. or B.S. degree – preferably in Supply Chain, Environmental Management, Business, or related field
- 15+ years of professional experience; 10+ years relevant procurement experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or other advanced degree preferred
