POSITION PURPOSE / SUMMARY STATEMENT (defines the major functions/purpose of the position):
Reporting to the EVP, ASICS North America (ANA) Business Strategy, and indirectly to the GM, Global Sustainability, the Manager of CSR and Sustainability manages and executes the different initiatives related to the brand’s regional and global sustainability goals that focus on environmental and social sustainability. This individual is responsible to improve environmental performance, and ensure that all supplier factories comply with the company’s Code of conduct. The Manager, CSR and Sustainability, coordinates and integrates sustainability projects into the organization including, Logistics and Distribution, Product life cycle, Marketing, Sales, Procurement and Human Resources. In addition, he/she collaborates with external stakeholders like NGO’s and industry groups to represents ASICS to drive for change in Responsible Sourcing Practices throughout the supply chain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to develop Global CSR and Sustainability Strategy through identification of risks and opportunities and proposal of solutions
- Develop ANA’s CSR and Sustainability Goal and Strategy based on/ liaising with Global Strategy
- Translate CSR and Sustainability strategy into initiatives and actions and embed into business divisions
- Develop and implement environmental initiatives based on the strategy for ASICS to improve environmental performance and achieve carbon reduction target collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Responsible for reducing ANA’s Carbon footprint via energy management tools such as LEED building certifications; On-site renewable deployment.
- Maintain an integral role in the sustainable product development process and provide support related to the initiatives (Material selection, manufacturing techniques, LCA).
- Develop and implement circular initiatives engaging consumes.
- Responsible for supply chain CSR risk assessment and compliance. Interacts with internal sourcing team and suppliers, conduct audit, lead corrective action plans to improve labor conditions at factories.
- Ensure the CSR standard are met at the supplier selection.
- Lead community engagement programs in ANA.
- Contribute to develop sustainability communication, e.g., Sustainability Report, web site
- Lead creating sustainability awareness and capacity building (training) in ANA
- Bring in external knowledge to bring ASICS Sustainability level to the global standard.
- Collaborate with other brands, industry associations and NGOs to achieve ASICS goals.
- Closely work with Global Sustainability Department
- Interacts with all levels throughout organization including employees and outside vendors

- Ability to travel throughout the domestic United States and Internationally (25% approx.)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ years of CSR and Sustainability experience, both social (supply chain CSR) and environmental in a corporate environment
- Expert-level preferred in Environmental Sustainability trends, international labor laws, and codes of conduct
- Experience in social audits and foreign manufacturing environments, desired. SMETA 4 Pillar audit tool experience, Auditor certification e.g. IRCA, preferred.
- Experience in successfully managing NGO allegations related to labor or environmental compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, Master’s degree appreciated
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience with Google Applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, etc.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- One or more of the following preferred: IRCA, LEED Green Associate or AP, ISO 14001
