Job Summary

The Sourcing Manager- Sustainable Sourcing Program Lead will partner closely with global and regional Directors and category managers to lead and execute the planning and implementation of various strategic programs and initiatives to advance supplier sustainability for Avient. They will interface with global and regional business leaders as well as the VP for Sustainability, and become a true advisor and business partner while developing and driving Avient’s Sustainability Sourcing Program and vision.

Reporting to the VP of Global Sourcing and Logistics, this highly visible role will also focus on other strategic initiatives as we roll out the Sustainability Sourcing Program.

Essential Functions

• Develop a comprehensive strategy and deployment plan for Avient’s Supplier Sustainability Program and manage all aspects of the program.
• Act as an advisor to the cross-functional leadership team on the suppliers’ sustainability agenda and ongoing transformation efforts.
• The Manager will play a key role in managing and implementing our supplier sustainability program, including engaging with internal and external stakeholders such as our suppliers, manufacturing plants, Environment Health & Safety, business organizations, and customers.
• Participate in ongoing sustainability reporting processes in close collaboration with the corporate communications team and other functions.
• Coordinate the planning and execution of supplier sustainability improvement projects with category managers; monitor the progress against deadlines and milestones
• Manage the all 3rd parties providing services to survey our supply base in the following categories (Environment- Ethics, Labors &
• Human Rights & Sustainable procurement)
• Define and lead the effort for continual improvement with the supply base.
• Represents Avient’s Procurement Sustainability team on multiple internal working groups and in external practice communities
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in supplier diversity & sustainability, environmental policy or a related field or Business, Finance, procurement or other business-related area.
• At least 5+ years of work experience in a business setting with a focus in procurement sustainability, or related field.

Additional Qualifications

• Ability to translate sustainability issues into goals and metrics and garner excitement and generate interest in the program amongst stakeholders.
• Knowledgeable in strategic sourcing and vendor management
• Previous work experience in developing and establishing supplier sustainability programs
• Demonstrated experience organizing and leading a diverse group of internal contributors and stakeholders to achieve objectives.
