Beautycounter is hiring an associate manager to join the Sustainability team to drive our sustainability program that encompasses Environmental & Responsible Sourcing programs. This includes leading an emissions reduction strategy and leading business integration initiatives for our climate goals. We recognize the urgency of climate change and are committed to help tackle this global challenge. The Sustainability team drives strategy, programs and engagement across the company and with our partners. In this role, you will be responsible for working across the company to drive and implement emissions reduction strategies across the company and value chain in support of our Climate Goals. This work requires deep internal partnership and integration of sustainability goals and metrics into core business functions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The Associate Manager of Sustainability will partner with the Director of Sustainability to integrate and drive sustainability strategies across Beautycounter
  • Provide subject matter expertise on environmental and social on one or more of our key programs: responsible sourcing, sustainable packaging, and climate action
  • Support Beautycounter’s Net Zero decarbonization strategy and annual GHG inventory and data collection
  • Support sustainable ingredient risk assessments, track supplier data, and further embed Beautycounter’s values into the supply chains of key raw materials
  • Manage sustainable packaging data and reporting to support delivery of sustainable and innovative packaging concepts and ensure Beautycounter achieves 2025 packaging goal
  • Ensure sustainability commitments and targets are appropriately embedded into key tools, systems and ways of working
  • Contribute to internal communications, external reporting and storytelling related to all sustainability programs
  • Lead external presentations to engage the Field of Consultants and HQ Associates in our mission initiatives

Qualifications:

  • At least 2-5 years of relevant experience in consulting, an internal mission/sustainability
  • B.S./B.A. in business management, sustainability, or related field. MBA or Masters in Sustainability preferred
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities to draw actionable conclusions from qualitative and quantitative data
  • Fluency in Excel and with large data sets and modeling to build business cases to evaluate costs and impact
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in developing presentations that communicate data in understandable, actionable ways
  • Prior subject matter expertise in one or more of our key impact areas (responsible sourcing, sustainable packaging, and climate action) and impact measurement. Beauty or other CPG industry experience preferred.
  • Experience developing and implementing sustainability initiatives and projects
  • Experience establishing partnerships with suppliers, NGO’s and industry bodies
  • Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals cross-functionally, at various levels of an organization, and with external partners to solve business challenges
  • Flexible/adaptable in a dynamic business environment with competing priorities and ambiguity
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work remotely and independently

Pay: $59,000 – $88,000 for work locations in the United States, with individual pay determined by several factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, education, and training. Salary ranges are determined in good faith by role, level, and location. As a remote-eligible job, a narrower salary range for a candidate’s preferred location may be available.

Bonus: Additional compensation includes an annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
