Position Overview:

We are looking for Sustainability Analyst to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This position will have responsibility for supporting the Bloom Energy Sustainability function and broader Government Affairs and Policy team with technical and analytical support.

This will include supporting:

  • Marketing, business development and sales success as an environmental subject matter expert
  • Customer discussions surrounding carbon accounting and sustainability reporting for Bloom products and projects
  • Bloom’s internal corporate sustainability program development
  • External sustainability reporting; and
  • Engagement with the sustainability, NGO and policy communities on key energy and environmental issues

The right candidate should be a strong analytical professional with a background in environmental engineering or energy. He/she will be well organized, a team player, and able to effectively manage the demands of multiple simultaneous projects. He/She will thrive in an environment bringing emerging products, associated market enablement and supporting internal systems forward. He/She will report to the Director of Sustainability.

Location: This position will be based in San Jose, CA

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Development Support
  • Serve as an organizational resource for customer engagements, including how Bloom installations support customer sustainability goals
  • Develop and maintain quantification tools and resources to support impact assessments and ongoing monitoring
  • Provide analytical support associated with decarbonized product development, opportunity assessment, and pilot programming
  • Energy Policy Analysis and NGO Engagement
  • Conduct research and provide development support for emerging policy positions
  • Engage with multi-stakeholder working groups on emerging sustainability, energy and carbon standards
  • Support the development of relationships within the sustainability and environmental community
  • Corporate Sustainability Measurement and Reporting
  • Support development and management of corporate sustainability reporting process
  • Establish and maintain metrics and reporting tools used to communicate Bloom Energy’s corporate sustainability performance

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years professional experience, including directly relevant background with sustainability and carbon impact analysis
  • Energy sector experience
  • Strong analytical, critical and creative thinker
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience working with sustainability standard-setting organizations including WRI and CDP desirable
  • Demonstrated program management skills
  • Self-motivated and highly organized, thrives in a fast paced environment
  • Some experience in customer facing roles
  • Undergraduate technical degree
