Boeing Global Enterprise Sustainability Organization, is looking for a Senior Sustainability Analyst to join our team in Tukwila, WA; Mesa, AZ; or Berkeley, MO.

Working within the Global Enterprise Sustainability Organization, this position will work within a diverse team and dispersed group of professionals to promote conservation within Boeing.  The primary responsibility of this role is to lead conservation projects/efforts across Boeing, from inception to completion, including final verification.  This is a corporate role, requiring the coordination of engineers, project managers, finance professionals and contractors across the span of the company in an effort to conserve energy, water and reduce waste through the completion of conservation projects.

The successful applicant should possess an understanding of industrial water/energy use and waste production such that they can effectively plan and prioritize conservation work within established budgets to meet company conservation goals. This individual will need to be able, locate, propose and provide a cost benefit analysis for conservation projects/investments from very small to much larger, multimillion-dollar strategic projects.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform Level 1 ASHRAE Energy Audits / EPA Energy Star© “Treasure Hunts” at Boeing Facilities throughout the continental United States – some travel required (up to 25%).
  • Provide Energy Star “Treasure Hunt” training / guidance to site personnel for self-performance of those activities.
  • In concert with other stakeholders, develop strategies and tactics at the Enterprise level to reduce environmental footprint and utility (energy, water, sewer, non-hazardous solid waste) consumption or contributions at the site level.
  • Solicit, Identify, prioritize conservation projects for execution.
  • Working with site stakeholders facilitate project execution, and enterprise level tracking, and problem resolution.
  • Measure and verification of savings for capital and expense projects.
  • Provide routine reports of project implementation progress, including financial performance.
  • Design and Lead technology and process initiatives vetted through management related to reducing environmental footprint and improving conservation efforts throughout Boeing.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders, regulators, and utility representative and trade associations to promote Boeings conservation objectives.
  • Assist other team members from time to time in the day to day delivery of other vital facility utility services.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of in-plant experience as a Plant Engineer or equivalent at an industrial / manufacturing facility
  • Experience reading, interpreting, participating in design reviews and verifying building and equipment-related design drawings / plans
  • Experience designing a commissioning plan and supporting commissioning efforts
  • Ability to travel and physically inspect buildings, mechanical spaces and equipment
  • Experience with multimillion-dollar projects and/or projects at multiple locations simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) accreditation and one or more of the following: Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), Professional Engineer (PE), LEED AP accreditation
  • Project Management Certification
  • System Administration level of experience utilizing Tridium / Niagara 4 hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of measurements that should be taken to determine efficiency, and equipment used to perform those measurements
  • Knowledge of computerized Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Knowledge of the Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) process, and ability to manage corporate wide deployment of an EPC program.

Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically 8 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
