Position Overview:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Combating the climate crisis is a defining challenge of our time. At BCG, we recognize the urgency to reduce emissions and address the systemic threats to our environment. To maximize our impact, we concentrate our efforts in three domains: Partnering with clients to drive climate action, shaping the global agenda through thought leadership, and managing our own environmental impacts.

The Sustainability Senior Program Manager will join BCG’s Global Internal Sustainability Team to drive and support the implementation and operationalization of sustainability initiatives across the firm. The first focus will be on carbon footprint reduction efforts.

The Sustainability Senior Program Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading the program’s central coordinating team, including line management of support team
  • Developing and maintaining the overall program plan and controls
  • Identifying and resolving issues and providing guidance and support to working teams across the regions
  • Defining the program’s governance structure and ensuring alignment across the firm
  • Developing and managing an effective stakeholder engagement plan and ensuring relevant parts of the organization are mobilised for success
  • Monitoring progress, managing risks, resolving issues and reporting at regular intervals to relevant stakeholders
  • Planning and designing the program to meet approved emission reduction objectives
  • Ensuring effective quality assurance framework applied
  • Maintaining focus on continuous improvement
  • Developing structures to facilitate information flow and ensuring best practices are socialized across the regions

Experience working successfully within a complex matrix structured organization is essential.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in business, economics, or related field
  • 8 -10 years’ work experience in related field
  • Management consulting experience in similar environments helpful
  • Ability to work effectively in a global environment with people at all organizational levels
  • Knowledge of BCG Practice Areas and/or software/data products helpful

YOU’LL WORK WITH

You will report directly to the Sustainability Senior Manager. Primary team members include the all members of the Internal sustainability team (Director, Sr. Manager, and Analysts). Regular engagement with MDP over Operations, Regionals COOs and their Chiefs of Staff, and Region System Leads responsible for sustainability, regional implementation teams, and Green Teams and a variety of cohorts and functions across the company as well as external vendors.
