Position Overview:
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Climate & Sustainability (C&S) is a new functional practice area (PA) within BCG. The firm’s leadership has made this new business area a priority for growth, focused on delivering impact and accelerating the path to a Net Zero world, while increasing revenues from this type of work 5-10x in the next several years. In addition to aligning our hiring strategy to support these aspirations, there is a need to upskill our existing workforce in this area as well.
The Global Learning & Development (L&D) team is working with the C&S PA leadership to set the broader upskilling strategy, the C&S Academy, and begins its execution. To provide ongoing support of this initiative we are developing a C&S specific L&D team.
As a Climate & Sustainability Learning Experience Designer, you will support the C&S Academy in a variety of way, including but not limited to:
- Curating and updating existing learning artifacts
- Developing new content to support the C&S micro-learnings which we plan to distribute to the full organization on a weekly basis
- Designing learning content that we expect our consulting staff to consume through both synchronous and asynchronous learning moments
- Providing input to support the development of our C&S credentials based on your ownership of the areas above.
You’ll frequently collaborate with the Learning Manager – Climate & Sustainability and will also work closely with a variety of stakeholders, including the C&S PA leadership team, the Global L&D leadership and communications team, BCG-U our deep pool of C&S topic experts, our C&S product owners, and external agencies supporting the C&S Academy.
You will have the unique opportunity to work with BCG’s thought leaders and help to transform our proprietary knowledge into best-in-class and innovative learning experiences for our BCGers to enable them to thrive and supporting this exciting next step in the firm’s history.
YOU’RE GOOD AT
- Designing learning and supporting development of engaging and immersive, multi modal learning, including but not limited to: live classroom, virtual live, on-demand, interactive multimedia, videos, VR/AR, AI based, quizzes, and gamification solutions, etc.
- Conducting user research analysis
- Building interactive prototypes and running Proof-of-Concepts to get the feedback from stakeholders and end users
- Partnering with non-L&D teams to identify the intersection between the C&S PA and other industry and functional practice areas
- Staying on top of learning trends that are relevant for BCG employees to offer best-in-class user-centred experience
- Providing strong, creative learning solutions to complex user problems
- Reviewing and curating content based on user and learning needs
- Passionate about Climate & Sustainability, driven by the goal to accelerate impact on our planet
- Partnering with training teams, SMEs, other internal stakeholders to assess training needs and selecting the most appropriate process, structure, technology, and delivery formats depending on learning goals
- Convincing and driving alignment between stakeholders, including senior stakeholders, with your confident and competent demeanor
- Explaining L&D best practices and rational to stakeholders
- Working with stakeholders to create a scope of work and designing and developing effective training solutions and programs according to BCG’s goals
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
- Bachelor’s or Masters Degree, ideally in education or digital technology
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in instructional design, learning technology and user experience
- Experience in live and live virtual classroom design, leveraging technology to enhance the experience
- Experience in one of the eModule publishing software such as Rise, Captivate, Adapt
- Experience with at least one leading Learning Experience Platform (LXP)
- Knowledge of Agile and user centric design principles
- Strong project management skills and knowledge of Slack, MS Teams, Trello, Jira, Smartsheet would be a plus
- Experience working with remote international teams
- Excellent English language oral and written communication skills required
