As part of the ESG team at Brookfield Renewable, this role will report to the Vice President, ESG. The role will help drive ESG initiatives contributing to our climate and decarbonization efforts.

Responsibilities:

This position would be suitable for those candidates who meet the position requirements and who thrive in a performance-driven environment that emphasizes employee leadership and accountability for delivering results. Specific responsibilities will include:

• Establish approaches, templates, and processes to support achievement of Brookfield Renewable Partner’s ESG targets, Brookfield Global Transition Fund’s impact targets and alignment with Brookfield Renewable ESG policies. This will require addressing a broad range of ESG topics including GHG emissions, biodiversity, water consumption, waste management, etc. Substantial experience with and knowledge of relevant ESG frameworks and standards including TCFD, SASB, SBTi, TNFD will be necessary to deliver successful outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to guide implementation of IT systems to support required ESG data collection and reporting with a goal of ensuring an audit ready dataset for required annual and quarterly reporting
• Develop and implement dashboard capabilities in conjunction with internal stakeholders to track GHG emissions and measure progress against net zero and decarbonization targets
• Support ESG governance for the Business Management function, working closely with the businesses to develop agendas, materials, recommendations, and positions as necessary
• Support the ESG due diligence processes for investments in the US in line with internal requirements
• Work with internal business teams to streamline the collection of required ESG information to ensure quality while minimizing the disruption to those groups.
• Maintain an understanding of current and emerging best practices, technology, policy, and regulatory aspects of sustainability topics
• Provide regular communications on key ESG issues and topics relevant to the Business Management function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in sustainability management, engineering or environmental studies, Master’s degree preferred.
• 5-8 years of experience and demonstrated track record in sustainability preferably with experience in operations, energy, management consulting and/or financial services.
• Knowledge and experience implementing GHG emissions programs, including developing emissions reductions plans. Requires familiarity with the GHG Protocol and Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials.
