The Senior Product Sustainability Analyst will play an integral role in implementing key programs to support Brooks’ Climate Roadmap and our efforts to meet our science-based targets to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. You will bring strong technical expertise and a deep understanding of life cycle assessment (LCA) and environmental impact assessment to develop and execute a product environmental data analytics program focused on evaluating the environmental impact of our materials and manufacturing. You will then work closely with our product teams to provide insights and recommendations to inform decisions to meet Brooks’ Corporate Responsibility (CR) Planet goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop Brooks’ product environmental data and analytics program focused on evaluating the environmental impact of materials and manufacturing.
  • Manage and execute all stages of this program including data collection, modelling, data analysis, visualization, and feedback to relevant teams.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to harvest applicable, accurate, and timely data.
  • Deliver analytics, insights and recommendations to our R&D and product creation teams to promote the use of more sustainable materials and manufacturing processes to achieve
  • Brooks’ CR Planet goals.
  • Scale Brooks adoption of the Higg Materials Sustainability Index (Higg MSI) and Higg Product Module (Higg PM) by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to integrate Higg tools with internal systems.
  • Through data insights and research, develop recommendations for new initiatives to drive environmental impact reduction across the product life cycle.
  • Develop approach to leverage Higg Index data (Higg MSI, Higg PM, Higg FEM) to improve our scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions accounting.
  • Support calculation of Brooks’ annual carbon emissions footprint.
  • Support the wider CR team as needed

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, Energy, Carbon, or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience conducting environmental impact measurement, product footprinting and/or Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), with strong preference for this experience within the footwear industry
  • Experience with LCA databases such as GaBi or Ecoinvent
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in collecting and evaluating complex data with the ability to translate this into meaningful insight that can be clearly articulated to stakeholders
  • Experience and knowledge in the Higg Index suite of tools preferred
  • Ability to create strong and meaningful relationships with stakeholders including internal teams, suppliers, and any other 3rd party organizations in order to drive change
  • Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally if needed
