Position Overview:
This position will report directly to the VP Sourcing COE, but will work closely with the SVP Sourcing & Supply Chain COE and the Global Sourcing Leadership Team (GSLT) and will be critical in shaping and driving our Sourcing & Supply Chain department strategy for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) in alignment with our broader corporate goals. As a department, we partner and collaborate with all the Operating Companies in order to effectively leverage our scale, simplify the supplier base, reduce total cost of ownership, create value, and drive improvement. In helping drive the company’s ESG platform across Sourcing and Supply Chain, the ESG/Sustainability Sr. Category manager will also be responsible for the implementation of sustainability strategy, oversight for program initiatives, progress monitoring, internal and external communications while ensuring that the sustainability category strategy is executed across applicable sourcing, contracting, supplier relationship management, and cross functional activity reporting efforts.
The ideal candidate also needs to have excellent project management skills, the ability to translate sustainability issues into goals and metrics, ability to generate support for programs amongst stakeholders, be knowledgeable in strategic sourcing and vendor management, previous work experience in developing and establishing supplier sustainability programs for sourcing, and demonstrated experience organizing and leading a diverse group of internal contributors and stakeholders to achieve objectives. This position will support sustainability efforts for all spend categories across our $10B+ of annual spend, including but not limited to: Technical, Food & Beverage, Hotel, On-board Revenue, Corporate Indirect, Air Travel, IT, Fuel, and Logistics. This position will provide a great opportunity to learn about the operations across our 9 global brands.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
ESG Category Strategy & Program Implementation
- Support GSLT to define clear category strategy, objectives and road map for Environmental (Sustainability), Social (Supplier Diversity/Skills Training & Dev), Governance (Policy, Risk Management, Ethics & Compliance) in support of the broader company goals.
- Partner with Global and Brand Sustainability, Compliance, & Ethics teams to manage current goals and plan for future ESG needs impacting Sourcing and Supply chain (including resource and technology recommendations).
- Assess current and map future state of ESG activities across department and partner with Sourcing, Supply Chain and Sustainability leaders to set standards where required.
- Leverage strategy and road map to develop and deliver proactive ESG programs which achieve the set KPI’s as well as influence culture and behaviors.
- Work with functional category owners drive key ESG initiatives in the supply base.
ESG PMO and Reporting
- Define, align, and manage to ESG sourcing targets and KPI’s in collaboration with functional category owners across all categories
- Work with category teams to define and align project priorities, targets, and project plans for major projects
- Develop executive reporting across ESG programs to track progress against targets and relevant KPI’s, issues and risks.
- Understand overall status as it relates to savings, status, risks, and needs, and be able to proactively identify solutions to program problems and escalate issues as needed

- Prepare presentations and communications for internal and external updates and syndicate ongoing progress with broad set of stakeholders (e.g., brands, sourcing, ops, etc.)
ESG Policies/Capabilities & Training/Culture
- Ensure clear ESG policies and procedures are developed and maintained across all Brands, considering the different starting points across our Brands.
- Lead change management efforts (e.g., communication, training, job aides) to ensure that the new P&P is understood and applied by sourcing employees
- Partner with the Global Sourcing Leadership to understand current training/ skills gaps and ensure that identified ESG training needs are delivered to defined schedule.
- Establish internal stakeholder and supplier development, training/ mentoring programs to educate on ESG processes and requirements. (e.g., Sustainability, Compliance & Regulatory, 7-step sourcing, leadership skills, project management, etc.)
- Partner with internal training or external resources to develop the training materials and to coordinate the deployment training.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the training and recommend adjustments as needed
- Lead change management efforts to ensure that content is understood and applied by sourcing employees
- Reinforce and strengthen the ESG culture at every opportunity with internal and external stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Supplier Diversity & Sustainability, Environmental Policy or a related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in sustainability, procurement, sourcing or related field.
- Excellent data and analytics execution skills (e.g., complex TCO modelling) and robust experience with ERP procurement and data visualization tools (e.g., Spend Visibility, Tableau, etc.)
- Subject matter expertise in Supplier Sustainability and demonstrated experience with building and running a supplier sustainability programs.
- Persuasive and convincing communication and presentation skills with ability to engage senior executives to influence decisions.
