Position Overview:

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Sustainability Coordinator works with our Sustainability to help support Chipotle’s efforts to Cultivate a Better World. The Sustainability Coordinator works with the Sustainability Analyst(s) and Director on a variety of projects to help further our impact.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Primary point of contact for our waste diversion efforts, including working with our waste broker and landlords to track and calculate our overall diversion rate, serving as the primary point of contact for our restaurants for their recycling efforts, and helping support both new and existing diversion programs.
  • Supports our Food Donation/Harvest program for our restaurants by tracking the program, training our restaurants, ensuring stores have the materials they need to participate, and serving as the primary point of contact for our external Harvest Partner(s).
  • Primary contact for our general Sustainability@chipotle.com inbox, triaging all emails, responding on our team’s behalf, and looping in others when necessary.
  • Supports our compost efforts including training restaurants new to the program, answering questions from the field, helping restaurants order compostable bags, ensuring restaurants are utilizing their program
  • Updating and managing our Waste Management Master List (monthly report that is used internally and externally to correctly identify who manages each stream of waste and what waste services are available at each restaurant)
  • Monitoring and reporting on all relevant sustainability and packaging regulation that effects our restaurants.
  • Research as needed for stakeholders and new/ongoing environmental issues and projects.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 1-3 years relevant work experience
  • Ability to think strategically and balance multiple projects at once
  • High level of integrity and relationship building skills
  • Positively represent the team with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Proficient with Outlook Office, Excel, Windows
