Position Overview:
Description
In the role of Sustainability Environmental Lead, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing a top tier operational environmental sustainability program across the Citizens Bank organization.
This position will allow stakeholders (both internal and external) to have a transparent perspective on Citizens’ operational environmental performance, helping to inform and educate business lines and providing critical input to the sustainability strategy for the bank.
Responsibilities will include to:
- Development and implementation of a sustainability strategy for the bank’s supply base to include data and engagement.
- Manage the public reporting requirements related to operational environmental sustainability including leading the CDP disclosure.
- Manage the full slate of carbon reporting to include development of regular reporting related to our Paris aligned climate goals.
- Work with the Communications and Consumer Banking team to provide operational environmental sustainability information as required for targeted and ongoing campaigns. Serve as a
- strategic advisor on how to communicate operational environmental sustainability performance data.
- Work with Human Resources, Communications and other internal stakeholders to develop colleague engagement plans and activities including Green Teams, Intranet messaging, in person meetings, etc.
The expectation will be for the chosen individual to work in the Johnston corporate office for 3 days a week and can work remote if required for 2 days. This is not a full-time remote opportunity and presence in the office is required.
Qualifications
- 5 or more years of experience working in environmental sustainability within a corporate environment
- Functional EH&S knowledge in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental, risk management, behavior-based safety training, auditing/program review
- Multi-site experience is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of CDP disclosure and carbon accounting
- Proven track record in driving a cultural change in EH&S
- Ability to communicate and partner with all levels within an organization
- Must be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks while meeting multiple deadlines in a very fast-paced corporate environment
- Demonstrated advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to Influence at all levels within an organization.
Education and Certifications
- Masters in Sustainability or MBA with Sustainability or Environmental focus preferred
Hours & Work Schedule
Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:30AM – 5:00PM
