Job Overview
The Sustainability Sr Manager will support the Senior Director in implementing Closed Loop programs, crafting new Sustainability initiatives, and presenting/educating Sustainability goals and initiatives across the Company and to public audiences. This will include working with industry partners, associations, and consultants to understand challenges and opportunities across the Sustainability landscape, and to pilot and scale solutions that achieve industry goals. This role will track reports and industry data, prepare presentations, represent the Company at appropriate conferences and/or task forces, and share the Company’s Sustainability initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supports the Sr. Director of Sustainability in crafting and activating programs across territory. Develops and implements new sustainability initiatives across the Company and to public audiences. Analyzes complex business and regulatory issues, manages divergent stakeholders and brings together multiple concepts across functions to define the long-term public affairs, government relations, communications, and sustainability strategy for the business.
- Prepares and presents communications, current goals, data, programs, and partnerships internally and to targeted external audiences. Develops and maintains positive relationships and strategic partnerships.
- Researches industry and System trends and track data, innovation, and opportunities for the company in the sustainability sector. Tracks reports and industry data to provide the Sr. Director with informed recommendations.
- Engages with convergent and divergent stakeholders to strengthen our impact and deliver value to the business.
- Works to build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with elected officials NGO’s, industry groups and other external stakeholders in communities across the company.
- Represents the company at sustainability conferences, task forces, and other appropriate meetings.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong initiative, ability to solve problems collaboratively, data management. Demonstrated experience creating Sustainability solutions, especially related package collection and recycling.
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with other organizations, especially in the package recovery and recycling space, Bottler and Company representatives, and Sustainability experts.
- Ability to assess current state and develop innovative strategies to achieve Company and Industry goals.
- Ability to travel to local recycling facilities, Marketing Assets, Customers meetings, and Community Engagement events to solve problems and activate new programs.
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive individual with excellent, strategic, problem-solving, and relationship skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge acquired through 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Political Science, Engineering, Public Policy, or similar
