The Sustainability Manager will work cross-functionally, partnering across the organization to implement, advise and progress strategic sustainability initiatives. This is a dynamic role where creativity, collaboration and a solutions focused approach are key to success. This role is designed for a sustainability “generalist” with familiarity across multiple sustainability topics and can operate across a spectrum of projects. The initial programs for year one will lean heavily in the focus area of responsible sourcing and sustainable supply chain, while helping to build efficiency and coordination within the newly formed sustainability organization and the newly acquired HEYDUDE brand. As a member of the Crocs, Inc. ESG & Sustainability team, this person reports directly to the VP, Global Head of ESG & Sustainability. While most of this team is based in Colorado, this enterprise level role will be based out of our Westwood, Boston office, home to the HEYDUDE brand. This person will provide on the ground connectivity, guidance, and strategic direction to the local business and leaders while maintaining close connection and support to our global sustainability efforts across our brands.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Act as the go to resource for sustainable and responsible procurement, facilities sustainability, and renewable energy among other topics
  • Work with Supply Chain, Sourcing and Compliance teams to design standard processes for integrating sustainability into existing processes, programs, engagement, and performance measurement
  • Help to evolve our responsible sourcing and social responsibility principles, integrating into ongoing auditing and compliance programs as part of continuous improvement
  • Support development of key relationships in our supply chain to help identify pathways of ESG improvement
  • Identify new initiatives and opportunities for improvements that support global sustainability program development
  • Drive the development of sustainability objectives for inclusion in scorecards as part of supplier selection, using metrics and targets based on market standard processes
  • Support the design of supplier diversity standard processes and support integration into the supply chain over time
  • Work with our distribution centers and office locations to design and implement plans to improve energy, water and waste efficiency including project management and tracking of KPIs
  • Assist in the creation of the HEYDUDE brand sustainability strategy across the focus areas of people, community, climate and circularity
  • Support the journey with expertise centered on benchmarking and driven assessment; industry standard process’s identification; consumer insights integration; creation of priority goals and metrics; and project level identification and execution
  • Serve as the ESG SME for supply chain topics including human rights and modern slavery risks
  • Lead research and analysis used to support our corporate sustainability strategies and to ensure that business practices, products and commitments are optimized in both their impact and their ability to be translated to measurable, visible outcomes
  • Bring foundational knowledge across environmental and social sustainability topics, with a focus on social sustainability compliance
  • Drive the business to move from ambition to execution by finding opportunities to integrate sustainability into processes, programs and decision making
  • This role will play a critical role in optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the ESG & Sustainability team, specifically providing executional support and administrative support to the Global Head of Sustainability
  • Support the evolution of the sustainability strategy and build out of implementation plans, execution timelines, program
  • Responsible for day-to-day budget management, PO submissions, vendor set up and budget reconciliation
  • Coordinates high level and sophisticated meetings, handling set up, facilitation, agendas and follow ups

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Proven experience in ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) and Sustainability
  • 3-years of shown program and project management in corporate sustainability or with a sustainability consulting organization
  • Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of supply chain management concepts in sourcing, contracting, environmental management plans, supplier risk management, materials traceability programs
  • Familiarity with supply chain focused sustainability & ESG, including delivery of sustainability and supplier diversity initiatives and management tools
  • Experience developing and implementing social and environmental policies and procedures
  • Excellent verbal, writing, editing, data visualization and PowerPoint skills
  • Superior communication skills; builds and maintains strong relationships/credibility
  • Excels in a fast-paced, meticulous work environment; optimally prioritizes and meets/exceeds deadlines
  • Proven record of identifying, developing, and completing high impact projects
  • Change leadership skills with experience in motivating change across business functions
  • Ambitious mentality – highly adaptable, makes decisions, is comfortable with risk and uncertainty, takes ownership of their role and deliverables, and can navigate sophisticated projects
  • Ability to strategically multi-task while also being clear and focused on execution
  • Ability to communicate difficult concepts with a focus on simplicity to garner support and agreement from others
  • Sophisticated skill at problem-solving, evaluating and analyzing challenges and identifying and implementing timely solutions.
  • Minimal travel as required by business needs (<20% of the time)

Salary Range:  $115,000 – $130,000

Workplace Persona:  Collaborator (hybrid work schedule; in office 60-80%)
