What you’ll achieve
As a Consultant, Sustainability Solutions Strategist, you will incubate new sustainability-focused solutions meant to both differentiate Dell in the marketplace and help our customers in their own sustainability journey. You will leverage key stakeholder insights to identify and advance the right solutions to add value, secure the proper “home” for those offers and partner to ensure pilots or scaled launches are successful. Note: The initial priorities would focus on solutions related to carbon emission management and reduction for customers, but a broader scope of solutions will be uncovered (no overlap with current product or service development programs or CTO priorities).

Responsibilities will include

Incubate Potential Solutions

Leverage sustainability business landscape insights such as competitive assessments, customer trends, research studies as well as stakeholder engagements and internal working groups to identify potential solutions and business viability of those opportunities. Identified sustainability-focused solutions will be those outside of Dell’s normal CTO innovation or product development roadmaps, and would be an offer to both differentiate Dell in the marketplace and help our customers in their own sustainability journey.

Build and Present Solution Business Case

Uncover market opportunity, identify the proper organization(s) within Dell to enlist as ultimate offer and deployment arms, build concise yet impactful business case and leverage to enlist ESG and business unit leadership to adopt. This will involve a great deal of understanding about Dell’s structure and how offers are developed in various organizations.

Manage Solutions Roadmap through OLP Process

Develop and maintain Offer Lifecycle Process (OLP) approach, including proper phase gating governance to manage prioritized solutions.Key KPIs and success metrics should be integrated, as well as proper advance readiness with marketing, communications and sales enablement organizations (and likely others).Conduct initial project management and pilot support when needed for new solutions or services to deliver sustainability value to customers.

Track Deployed Solutions KPIs to Measure Business Impact

Ensure closed loop method to document revenue, customer satisfaction or engagement, and other key metrics to determine impact to business. Conduct pilot or launch post-mortems to document learnings and evolve solutions development process based on findings. Role may require external presentations to customers, analysts, or other stakeholders.

Essential Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in solutions/offer development or management (could include an aspect of sales or marketing in support of these offers). Flair for technology and understanding of Dell’s products and solutions.
  • Significant project management experience and working knowledge of Dell’s Offer Lifecycle Process (OLP).
  • Knowledge of Dell’s Progress Made Real Advancing Sustainability goals.
  • High degree of comfort and experience engaging with and presenting to executive leadership, internally and externally.
  • Proven history of meeting deadlines and exceeding goals, especially in a matrix environment.
  • Passion for maximizing impact and leverage of sustainability agenda and team.

Desirable Requirements

  • Technical degree preferred, and/or advanced degree, MBA, or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical knowledge of one or more of the following sustainability topics: Climate (e.g., GHG emissions), Water, Circular Economy.
