Position Overview:
HOW YOU’LL HELP US KEEP CLIMBING (OVERVIEW & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)
The Sustainability Analyst will be asked to work closely with leaders across the organization to develop creative solutions to current business and regulatory challenges. This role specifically supports the Global Sustainability department, which oversees all environmental sustainability-related matters within the operation, including creating strategy around the mitigation of our greenhouse gas emissions and overall environmental footprint in order to become a more sustainable airline. This role will assist primarily with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting to stakeholders (investors, corporate customers, etc.) in an effort to improve performance and rankings. We are looking for data-curious candidates that seek to understand process and are passionate about environmental sustainability.
- Manage data related to Delta’s sustainability reporting, including but not limited to:
- Calculating Delta’s full greenhouse gas emissions inventory (Scope 1, 2, 3)
- Managing third party verification of greenhouse gas inventory under The Climate Registry
- Assisting in coordination of annual ESG Report publication, as well as submissions for Dow Jones Sustainability Index, CDP, Ecovadis, SAFA, etc.
- Analyze fuel and environmental data in order to craft sustainability story to customers
- Assist in communications on sustainability story through responses to corporate customer questionnaires and RFPs, investor questionnaires and presentations at various sustainability forums
- Assist in annual compliance activities, including verification EU ETS and CORSIA data
- Assist in various other sustainability initiatives such as: carbon portfolio, B2B sustainability programs, alternative jet fuel opportunities, waste/recycling/compost initiatives
- Assist with employee engagement by working with Delta’s Green Up Business Resource Group
- Assist with project management related to external partnership opportunities
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, Business/Management, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, Environmental Science/Sustainability an/or equivalent number of years relevant work experience required
- Work comfortably with various software and computer programs such as SAS, SQL, Hyperion, and Microsoft Office to develop reports and automate existing reports
- Have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; Tableau or Alteryx experience is a plus
- Be a collaborative, detail-oriented team player and complete assignments with minimum supervision, while performing well under pressure.
- Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Convey professional image to all levels of associates
