Job Description

DHL Supply Chain (DSC) North America is looking for a Packaging Sustainability Manager to become a key member of our Regional Packaging team supporting the implementation of sustainable solutions in our packaging operations and measuring their impact across our region.

This role will focus on identifying the sustainable packaging needs of our customers, monitoring sustainable packaging trends and technology, driving cost and carbon improvements, monitoring and reporting on sustainability KPIs and driving repeatable, scalable sustainability solutions across all our Packaging Operations within DHL Supply Chain North America.

This role will work across many functions, regions and organizational levels within the larger Deutsche Post DHL Group and will have significant visibility within our North America sector leadership teams and product leadership teams.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Develop strong working knowledge of customer packaging sustainability initiatives and objectives and partner directly with customer representatives to implement solutions that support those objectives
• Develop sustainability standards and operational solutions that are scalable and repeatable across our packaging operations
• Partner with local site operations to lead continuous improvement and change management initiatives to implement corporate sustainability standards and solutions in their operations
• Support the development and communication of Sustainability KPI’s that monitor the success of our sustainability program
• Stay up to date with new technologies, trends and regulations relating to packaging sustainability and represent DHL as a subject matter expert when interfacing with new and existing customers and industry experts
• Support marketing campaign material development and sales team strategies leveraging the unique industry insights gained during research activities
• Support new business pursuits by providing technical expertise and support to sales teams, operational teams and solution design teams
• Partner with internal DHL stakeholders to support the broader GoGreen/Sustainability agenda

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Packaging or Sustainability or equivalent experience, required
• 3+ years of progressive experience in packaging sustainability or design for a consumer packaged goods company and/or a packaging material manufacturing company, required
