JOB DETAILS

The Environmental Sustainability Manager will report directly to the Director – Environmental Sustainability and lead the development and implementation of specific strategies to reduce the environmental footprint of Domino’s purchased goods, including greenhouse gas emissions, land use, deforestation, water use, and other material sustainability and responsible sourcing topics. This role will work with a cross functional team that includes consultants, communications, legal, supply chain and other areas of Domino’s, to ensure integration and execution of sustainability initiatives, develop and track KPIs and communicate progress. This position will also lay the groundwork for business transformation by leading long-term innovation and systems change strategies and implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

(75%) Environmental Sustainability

  • Develop and implement policies to address sustainability focus areas, such as animal welfare, deforestation, human rights, biodiversity or others, including establishing targets, implementation plans and associated budgets
  • Responsible for creating and integrating a Scope 3 purchased goods GHG emissions reduction strategy with suppliers, consultants, NGOs and internal teams; including commodity ingredients, packaging, and various non-commodity products
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to track sustainability KPIs and metrics; analyze data to identify opportunities and targets for improvement
  • Work with facility and corporate teams to pursue environmental sustainability objectives
  • Provide expertise and guidance to existing teams and manage cross functional partnerships to build new processes and advance partner acumen on environmental sustainability and responsible sourcing topics
  • Assist in the regular collection and coordination of sustainability information for the annual stewardship report, employee engagement, and other communication outlets
  • Responsible for implementing parts of environmental sustainability budget related to Scope 3 purchased goods strategy and other policies as needed; manages appropriate dashboards, complex qualitative and quantitative analyses, and training
  • Coordinates agendas and presentation materials for senior leadership and cross-functional meetings
  • Represent Domino’s business and sustainability imperatives in multi-stakeholder settings, such as pre-competitive dialogues, industry associations, or cross-sector collaboration

(25%) Innovation & Systems Change

  • Identify and scope long-term opportunities for innovation across the sustainability landscape
  • Make the internal and external business case for investment in net-zero learning, pilots and scalable interventions
  • Help drive environmental sustainability innovations and integrate key decisions into ongoing daily business functions like procurement, operations and marketing
  • Maintain understanding of leading trends and changes in sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and overall sustainability landscape, including regulatory issues.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sustainability, Agriculture, Responsible Sourcing, or related field – Preferred Master’s Degree
  • Subject matter expertise in environmental sustainability, GHG emissions, and ESG disclosure – regenerative agriculture, raw material sourcing, Scope 3 carbon accounting expertise preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental sustainability, preferably in the food & beverage industry or related consulting
  • Expertise and experience on the policies, methods and/or approaches for measuring and mitigating GHG emissions
  • Ability to interface with multiple levels of the organization and communicate effectively, including with suppliers
  • Ability to identify areas of improvement and be able to articulate the business case for change
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to execute, prioritize and drive multiple priorities without losing focus or momentum
  • Proficient in MS Office products
  • Must be a Team Player and work well in cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, with an ability to develop accurate, transparent and consistent metrics aligned with existing and emerging sustainability frameworks (e.g. GRI, SASB, SBTi, TCFD)
  • Passion for and experience in developing sustainability strategies, process design, evaluation and/or management
  • Ability to address complex challenges with creativity, positivity and a growth mindset
