Position Overview:

As a member of Sustainability team, this role is responsible for supporting the growth of Edison Energy’s Sustainability practice. The Sustainability Analyst will have the opportunity to work on high impact, strategic consulting projects across areas including energy; carbon management; greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory; environmental justice; sustainability reporting; stakeholder engagement; net zero, science based targets, carbon neutrality; project management; climate change; climate adaptation; carbon emissions modeling; water; waste; and renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • – Work within sustainability advisory practice research to support sustainability advisory practice on topics including sustainability benchmarking, GHG inventory development, and decarbonization
  • – Support greenhouse gas accounting, including Scope 3 calculations and science-based target development
  • – Support clients in understanding, addressing, and improving relevant sustainability rankings, reporting frameworks and/or disclosures such as the SBTi, CDP, GRI, Sustainalytics and SASB.
  • – Analyze data including energy, water, and waste
  • – Develop subject-matter expertise on ESG issues (environment, climate change resiliency) and environmental sustainability priorities (energy, carbon, water, waste, and renewable energy)
  • – Support the development and roll-out of new sustainability initiatives
  • – Monitor progress, manage risks, resolve issues, and regularly report to relevant stakeholders
  • – Maintain and build client relationships, prepare proposals and presentations, and support marketing and sales initiatives

Experience & Qualifications:

  • – 2-4+ years of relevant work experience (including technical experience in sustainability, energy CSR/ESG, or climate change)
  • – Bachelor’s Degree with focus in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, or Engineering desired. Master’s or MBA a plus
  • – Work experience in consultancy / professional services preferred
  • – A background and understanding of environmental protocols, like the GHG Protocol, ISO 16064, Scope 3 Protocol and the Science Based Target Initiative
  • – Experience with environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting frameworks like GRI, CDP, SASB and TCFD is beneficial
  • – Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • – Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and present effectively

  • – Results-oriented project management and organizational skills with a bias for action while managing multiple competing priorities
  • – Strong attention to detail and the expectation to grow into an expert on environmental sustainability and technical sustainability concepts
  • – Problem solving, analytical skills and decision making as an individual and part of a team
  • – Ability to work effectively with people at all levels through establishing positive, mutually respectful and productive working relationships
  • – Must be able to perform successfully in a fast paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment and enhance the business and in keeping with Edison’s values and culture.
