Position Summary
Responsible for data gathering, analysis, and continuous improvement of environmental, climate change, human rights, and other ESG related key initiatives, and for creating the Company’s annual Sustainability Summary and ESG inventory in partnership with Energizer’s businesses, risk functions, and operational teams. The analyst reports to the Associate General Counsel.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Gather and interpret data from facilities for energy, water, and waste; make recommendations and decisions to improve energy, water, and waste usage
  • Research key sustainability issues for different companies and sectors, track sustainable initiatives, and make recommendations to enhance Energizer’s sustainability program
  • Maintain database tracking of stakeholder engagement activity and progress metrics (as applicable), and provide related reporting
  • Participate in training and outreach to stakeholders to increase engagement and have a positive impact on metrics
  • Draft Energizer’s responses to key ESG surveys and rating agencies and perform ongoing due diligence and regular monitoring of
  • Energizer’s ESG scores; make recommendations on and implement ways to improve ESG scores
  • Interact and develop relationships with key ESG raters and reporting framework developers to understand their methodologies and stay current on emerging trends as well as expectations for transparency and reporting
  • Respond to sustainability-related client surveys/RFPs, and draft responses to investor inquiries related to Energizer’s ESG performance
  • Supervise outside consultants as necessary
  • Work with other members of the legal team on special projects and initiatives, including debt and security offerings
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Tax, Investor Relations, and Human Resources

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years experience in a sustainability or data analytics role
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external business partners
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Customer-focused and commercially aware, able to manage ambiguity and achieve results
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize based on business strategies and objectives
  • Highly sophisticated at utilizing technology to help collect, organize, and analyze large amounts of information
  • Ability to identify and articulate trends from the data

Working Relationships & Environment

  • Reports up through the legal organization
  • Key relationships internally include members of the ESG Team, HR, Regulatory, and Legal

Work Environment

  • Home/remote working possible
  • Occasional trips to St. Louis, MO headquarters
  • Some travel may be required
