Position Overview:
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
This position of Sustainability Analyst provides analytical support to create, drive and maintain effective corporate sustainability activities aligned with Entergy’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) programs within the Sustainability and Environmental Policy group. This position will report to the Director, Sustainability to assist sustainability program stakeholders with all sustainability and ESG related activities, including strategy considerations, communications, data management and reporting.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in development and ongoing refinement of Entergy’s sustainability vision and strategy
- Enhance the ESG reporting and benchmarking functions among key departments and build processes to incorporate best practices and action planning into the investment and process improvement programs at the corporate and OpCo level
- Conduct education, presentations and training on ESG specific risks/opportunities for key stakeholders, both internal and external
- Assist in the development of key process tools to track, report and benchmark sustainability/ESG performance effectively
- Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather, organize and report qualitative and quantitative performance results through effective database management techniques
- Support Investor Relations, Communications and various departments in providing timely, complete and correct sustainability/ESG performance results for various investment-related disclosures and rating requests/programs
- Support or lead development of analysis, metrics and information necessary to report externally on sustainability performance
- Seek, build, and maintain cooperative/new relationships with key external stakeholders (EEI, EPRI, Consultants, etc.) and support partnership opportunities for benchmarking, outreach, sponsorships, engagement on business issues, and best practices
- Engage with customers on sustainability issues and provide data as requested by leadership or other internal customer relationship managers
- Assist in conducting periodic updates to the internal group SharePoint site and the external sustainability website by coordinating with various company SMEs to ensure data is current and accurate
- Assist with or lead development of GHG inventory and third-party environmental metrics verification
- Assist departmental staff in other program areas as requested
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in environmental sciences, sustainability, or related field
- Desired: Graduate degree or MBA
Minimum Experience:
- Analyst III: 4-6 years of relevant experience
- Senior Analyst: 6+ years of relevant experience
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General to detailed experience with ESG metrics and corporate sustainability
- Basic to moderate understanding of database organization and metrics reporting
- Moderate to strong database management experience or experience with sustainability/ESG programs
- Moderate to strong understanding of sustainability issues and challenges facing utilities now and in the future
- Ability to function and perform independently with minimal supervision and execute tasks within the prescribed timelines
- Ability to create effective working relationships with department staff, SMEs and utility and organizational contacts
- Ability to engage directly with customers on sustainability issues and data requests
- Ability to coordinate programs, prepare reports and maintain accurate records
- Highly proficient in MS Office, namely Excel, Word, Power Point and SharePoint. Experience with spreadsheet macros, pivot tables, formulas/computations, conditional formatting, etc.
