Responsibilities
Position Overview
The ESG Manager at Express will work closely with the Chief Legal Officer. The manager will guide the development and lead the execution of the Company’s Environmental, Social and Governance strategies. The Manager will work closely with executive and functional leaders to develop and implement the Company’s strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and Maintain Internal ESG Dashboard designed to track progress across all pillars of the ESG Strategy
- Develop a Communications Strategy Regarding Public ESG Goals (press releases, reporting, website, investor relations, etc.) and work with various departments to execute
- Prepare materials for and lead internal ESG Committee made up of key ELT leadership to monitor existing goals and make new recommendations regarding future goals
- Assist with substantiation efforts for marketing claims and ESG goals, working in conjunction with Intellectual Property lawyer and substantiation and audit of goals/claims
- Review existing social compliance policies, monitor changes to laws and make recommendations to ESG Committee regarding updates (working in conjunction with Manager of CSR)
- Develop a plan for various ESG ratings agencies activities and manage coordination of data for submission to ISS, SASB, Sustainalytics, etc.
- Prepare Board-level updates regarding ESG progress and activities, working with all internal stakeholders
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working with Companies on their ESG or sustainability programs
- Bachelors Degree required, law degree a plus, but not required
