Position Overview:
Facebook’s Sustainability team drives sustainability strategy, programs and engagement across the company and with our partners. We seek an experienced Program Manager to lead GHG reduction programs as part of Facebook’s climate change initiatives. This role will be responsible for partnering with teams across the organization and in Facebook’s value chain on strategy development and implementation activities for projects that reduce Facebook’s GHG footprint. This includes managing existing projects, developing a pipeline for emerging opportunities, and building a suite of tools to enable success. This is a full-time position based in our Fremont, CA office.
Sustainability Program Manager, Carbon Responsibilities
- Implement portfolio of GHG reduction programs that align with corporate strategy and goals
- Build program management framework to enable project pipeline, including managing project selection process and implementation activities in partnership with internal teams
- Analyze and leverage greenhouse gas emissions forecasts to align stakeholders on projects and program direction
- Build framework, processes and capacity building tools for managing value chain data collection and program engagement
- Contribute to GHG reduction strategy through research, analysis and recommendations
- Track progress against targets and benchmark performance against key indicators and stakeholder expectations
- Develop materials to drive internal engagement and to build effective relationships with key partners
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in sustainability, environmental science, corporate responsibility or related field
- Experience independently driving projects end-to-end
- Experience influencing stakeholders and collaborating with partner teams across the organization and across geographies
- Technical knowledge of greenhouse gas accounting principles and application in the private sector, including familiarity with Scope 3 categories
- Experience driving GHG emissions reduction projects within a company’s direct operations and value chain
- Experience delivering projects aligned with large scale corporate goals
- Flexible, entrepreneurial spirit with experience influencing across an organization with indirect authority
