Position Overview:
This position is responsible for leading our FedEx Logistics Sustainability program and processes. This position will be the main contact person for all related programs and any other programs that require attention regarding the impact on the ongoing commitment to become a more sustainable and socially responsible company. This position makes recommendations and helps to execute the strategies to enhance the company’s approach to all continual improvement and social responsibility issues globally. This position will interact closely with all levels of management, functions and regions.
Strong knowledge of climate, circularity, and the impacts of the business (transportation and 3PL Warehouse logistics and facilities) on the natural environment with a clear track record of successfully implementing sustainability strategies and road maps across large businesses that are public companies. Excellent organization and time management skills. Sound judgment and professionalism with the ability to make independent decisions. Must demonstrate proactive approaches to problem-solving. Computer proficiency, strong analytical and organizational skills with close attention to detail. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills using all Microsoft Office applications. Advanced project management skills. Ability to execute tasks independently and maintain confidentiality with sensitive data. Demonstrate strategic and creative thinking with good business judgment to generate possible solutions and options to achieve business goals. Ability to persuade and influence without having direct authority
Minimum of five (5) years relative work experience in sustainability. Demonstrated experience and/or education in environmental sustainability. Experience with presenting and interacting with senior level leaders. Strong communicator, with ability to craft clear and effective messages both orally and in writing. SEA (Sustainability Excellence Associate) certification preferred. BA or BS in one of the following fields such as Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or other related field preferred. Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Environmental Science, Master of Public Policy and Administration (MPP or MPA), or related field preferred. International experience preferred. Ability to travel both domestic and international.
