Position Overview:

The Role

As our Sustainability Manager, you will lead corporate sustainability initiatives addressing customer needs, market opportunities and long-term vision of the company. You will act as a visionary representative of the company and be heavily involved with the creation of our sustainability roadmap and progress toward targeted goals. This is a newly added and much-anticipated position, offering an amazing opportunity to build a foundation and blaze a trail for a dedicated sustainability function for our global business!

You will…

  • Participate in the growth of our Sustainability Program, manage the execution of key commitments and track progress towards the targeted goals
  • Champion the sustainability message and drive process documentation and conformance throughout the organization
  • Evaluate and assess sustainability needs and improvement opportunities, prioritize and execute through the project teams
  • Lead and work with highly cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product Managers, Engineers and other associates, on developing and defining product and packaging expectations during the NPD process, required line extensions and product improvement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain data systems that allow for a quick response to customer surveys and LEED credit inquiries while providing reports on sustainability performance
  • Gather, maintain and provide the data needed for global communication as well as key metrics required for reporting our annual performance (Corporate Sustainability Report)
  • Manage sustainability certifications for all company-related industries, compiling and submitting product and data for annual and renewal certifications including Product Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), Carbon Offsetting Program, Healthier Hospital Initiative and BIFMA Level
  • Travel 5-10% both domestically and internationally, as needed

What You Bring to the Team

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant environmental/sustainability program management experience, to include familiarity with environmental regulatory programs being posed to governments, corporations and the public
  • A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering or similar
  • A passion for driving sustainability efforts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to team members at all levels
  • A self-starter attitude with the ability to work collaboratively with and lead cross-functional teams
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, especially in managing multiple projects simultaneously
