Position Overview:
Overview
As our Sustainability Manager – Circular Economy, you will manage and be responsible for the activities, procedures and sustainability personnel involved in environmental components of Environmental Social Governance (ESG), sustainability data reporting, internal and external sustainability audits. You will manage ESG rankings, sustainability subcommittee meetings, quarterly sustainability reporting, coordinating with Flatiron departments, HOCHTIEF and other operational companies. You will specialize in developing new circular economy management practices, implementing waste reduction techniques, completing life cycle assessments, managing life cycle assessment software and databases to optimize decision-making, and creating methods and policies defined by ISO 14040 series standards.
What you will be doing
- Manages internal and external ESG audits, analyzes data and prepares reports.
- Works with HOCHTIEF, Operational Companies, departments, auditors, executive and operation teams on achieving our sustainability data reporting and ESG commitments.
- Provides oversight, management and review of sustainability data from Flatiron departments such as equipment, procurement, legal, and human resources
- Provides presentations, presentation materials, writes reports for supervisor review and leadership presentation.
- Develop and conduct employee training on Circular Economy.
- Develop and implement zero waste best practices.
- Experience conducting life cycle assessments for a variety of materials, preferably for infrastructure projects. Knowledge of how to apply LCAs to Flatiron practices.
- Manage life cycle assessment software and databases to optimize decision-making for the executive leadership team and operations.
- Developing and creating new methods and policies defined by ISO 14040 series standards.
- Experience or expertise in CSR and/or corporate ESG practices.
- Promotes and raises awareness, at all levels of the organization, of the impact of emerging sustainability and ESG related issues, whether legislative or best practice.
- Trains staff at all levels in sustainability and ESG issues and responsibilities.
- Participates in education and awareness programs.
- Maintains knowledge of Company’s values and strategic plan.
- Support published corporate policies.
- Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability or a related field required.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Familiarity with sustainability and ESG reporting and disclosure frameworks.
- Experience with development of systems and platforms for sustainability data reporting.
- Manages sustainability requirements, Environmental-ESG commitments and goals.
- Proven leadership ability.
- Able to communicate and guide internal and parent company stakeholders.
- Proven process management skills.
- Developing knowledge of construction industry and construction design reviews.
