The Manager will lead ESG Reporting and support sustainability initiatives. You will build strong relationships across company divisions, possess a strong understanding of the businesses and ESG/sustainability, and implement aligned strategies and activities. Our Impact:

  • Develop and drive a cross functional strategy to integrate environmental, social and governance principles into all aspects of the business, defining goals appropriate for each business and group that will contribute to the company’s sustainability agenda and approach
  • Serve as an advisor and partner in service of completing those goals
  • Identify risks and opportunities arising from the sustainability strategy
  • Manage ESG reporting; function as a SME on reporting frameworks and methodologies

Your Impact:

  • Primary communications lead on Sustainability team. Partner closely with the corporate communications team to lead and develop the communications plan, internal and external messaging, website content and related materials/tools/events
  • Serve as authorized spokesperson for all ESG matters
  • Lead the ESG Reporting in developing procedures; manage the end-to-end schedule, collect data, review process, tools and resources
  • Identify reporting data needs aligned to industry expectations, procure data, improve data quality, and support internal audit activities
  • Engage with market participants (sellers, dealers, investors) to stay abreast of ESG reporting trends, regulations, and standards
  • Develop strong relationships with key leaders and SMEs in each division, particularly in Single Family, Multifamily, Finance, Enterprise Risk Management and Communications
  • Develop Board and senior management content and deliver presentations as applicable
  • Onboard, partner and oversee third parties (e.g. consultancies, service providers) as applicable
  • Ad hoc travel (no more than 5%) to engage with partners, investors and participate in conferences and industry events
  • Provide SME input to business divisions in developing related reporting to ensure alignment with corporate-level sustainability reporting

Qualifications:
8+ years of related experience
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
Proven ability to build relationships, partner with multi-functional teams and influence others
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience implementing and aligning to regulatory or industry frameworks
Familiar with ICMA Green/ Social/ Sustainability Bond Principles is a plus
Familiarity with sustainability strategies, market trends, investor focus areas and organizations is helpful
Familiar with UN SDGs / PRI
Experience or familiarity with Freddie Mac (e.g., mission, businesses, and capital markets execution) or GSEs is a plus
Positive attitude, creative problem solver, determined and standout colleague on a lean team is critical
Comfortable with ambiguity and can adapt quickly to connect with different partners
Proven ability to effect change through influence
