Position Overview:

The Global Water Stewardship & Alliances Sr. Manager supports the Environmental, Social, and Governance Function, Brands, Gap International Sourcing, Strategy, and other cross-functional partners in leading the key work streams in the Water Stewardship Program, focused on the Company’s largest environmental material risks – water and climate resilience. . The Sr. Manager sets the vision and strategy for Gap Inc.’s Water stewardship program globally, including water use within our broad operations and supply chain, as well as in the communities in which we operate. This includes guidance of one of Gap Inc.’s hallmark programs, the Women and Water Alliance, and leading the evolution of Gap Inc’s new Water for All strategy and Gap Brand’s new signature program focused on water. With a goal of providing safe access to clean water for women in the communities where we do business, positioning the company to increase our global footprint and lead across industry in climate and water resilience, and continue to make a positive impact across villages and communities globally through strategic partnerships.

This position will lead in defining, innovating, embedding, and developing strategic initiatives and alliances. The Global Water Stewardship & Alliances Sr. Manager will support a team in the development, management and programmatic efforts to reduce the use of water in product development and manufacturing and support social investment opportunities to provide safe access to clean water.

What You’ll Do

  • Leading the Global Water Stewardship & Alliance Team, in strategy development, project management, developing work plans, coordinating with project teams, developing regular meeting agendas and ensuring teams are meeting goals and deadlines.
  • The team currently consists of 2 direct reports plus 2 full time contractors.
  • Managing nonprofit partnership with six organizations (30 people).
  • Building Gap Inc.’s external credibility as a water leader among a growing list of external stakeholders including presenting to internal and external audiences.
  • Integrating climate resiliency into Water for All strategy.
  • Staying abreast of water stewardship, climate resilience, and strategic best practices and innovative ideas from within and outside the apparel retail industry.
  • Lead the Global Water Stewardship & Alliances team in managing pilot projects and Brand initiatives.
  • Integrate water stewardship vision and strategy into Gap Inc. functions and Brands, including leading development of Gap Brand’s new signature program.
  • Coordinate with and support marketing and communications efforts related to water stewardship initiatives and strategic alliances.
  • Set, track and manage budget related to program priorities.

  • Attention to detail while effectively handling multiple demands and competing priorities
  • Ability to adapt style to a variety of cultural perspectives
  • Open availability and flexibility to work according to the needs of the business
  • Proficient in use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Minimum experience:

  • 10 years’ experience in related field and/or organization including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
