Job Summary: The Environmental Sustainability Manager will play a key role in developing, implementing, supporting, and monitoring green and sustainability key initiatives across the corporation with cross-functional teams and improving the methodologies and employee engagement required for success.
Essential Duties:
Develop:
- Lead research and analysis used to develop and recommend corporate sustainability strategies to ensure that business practices, products, and services are environmentally friendly and compliant with government rules and regulations.
- Make recommendations to senior leadership to execute strategies to enhance our approach to sustainability initiatives.
- Lead the Corporate Sustainability “Green Team”.
- Ability to author potions of the CSR for corporate.
Implement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement processes and technologies that support the organization’s sustainability goals and targets.
- Recommend and coordinate the acquisition, installation, or replacement of equipment designed to increase sustainability.
- Provide metrics to show impact of efforts.
Support:
- Serve as internal Subject Matter Expert on emerging trends, frameworks, and industry benchmarks.
Monitor:
- Collect and analyze company-wide data on sustainability initiatives and programs and convey implications, priorities, and initiatives to non-technical audiences.
- Ensure the organizations ability to meet environmental sustainability goals.
Minimal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of progressive experience in a multi-site or corporate sustainability role.
- 2 years leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies or related field.
- 3 years leading and implementing a corporate sustainability program
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Thorough working knowledge of corporate sustainability concepts and best practice.
- Proven knowledge of sustainability operations and industry standards and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence management, teams and individuals across multiple functions within the organization.
- Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to train/present to an executive level and plant personnel audience.
Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment including seasonal variation in temperatures and occasional exposure to manufacturing fumes or by-products. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing, and shields for required tasks and closed toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.
