Position Overview:

Overview

Works under the direction of the Corporate Sustainability Director in performing various sustainability initiatives including data collection, documentation, verification, data management, analysis and planning.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and maintain sustainability/ESG data. (25%)
  • Analyze and assess documents, files, and data to be used in reporting and project development. (15%)
  • Develop reports and presentations for internal and external audiences. (10%)
  • Manage tracking and reporting of key performance indicators related to all ESG matters, including but not limited to climate change, diversity and inclusion, governance, and environmental sustainability priorities (energy, greenhouse gas and related science-based targets, renewable energy, water, etc.). (10%)
  • Support the data gathering, calculations, writing, design, and overall development of the Company’s Sustainability/ESG reporting. Which includes numerous sustainability rating and reporting agencies/frameworks, such as: CDP, GRI, individual customer reporting requirements, and our annual company sustainability report. (5%)
  • Work closely with outside service providers that assist with sustainability initiatives, including assisting with the selection of such providers. (5%)
  • Help determine process improvements in our global sustainability programs and implement market best practices. (5%)
  • Monitor the sustainability rating agencies’ assessments and benchmarking of the Company in order to enhance disclosures and provide recommendations on the frameworks and reporting methods the Company should pursue. (5%)
  • Draft and develop trainings on sustainability topics to further ESG awareness throughout the Company. (5%)
  • Assist business operations with developing emissions reduction strategies and solutions. (5%)
  • Coordinate sustainability requests from investors, customers, and policymakers. (5%)
  • Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary. (5%)

Qualifications

Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study from an accredited college or university. Preferred advanced education and/or certifications in sustainability, environmental science, social science, corporate governance, or other related fields.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience or post-graduate sustainability related degree.
  • Experience or education in the food and agriculture industry is a plus.
  • Experience in manufacturing is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of (B/basic; J/journey; E/expert):

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint) (J)
  • Sustainability data mining and data analysis (J)
  • Analytical and quantitative skills (J)
  • ESG data collection software (B)
