Position Overview:
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in Product Development, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Operations, Quality or Sustainability.
- Experience in consumer electronics, including sustainable product requirements for consumer electronics.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in leading cross-functional projects and teams and driving adoption of new requirements across disparate stakeholders.
- Experience with creating and tracking metrics of success.
- Experience in automation, tool, process development or analytics.
- Experience in drawing meaningful insights from data to create strategy, tell a narrative and operationalize solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels including executive leadership teams, peers, and managers.

You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. As a Program Manager for Sustainable Product Development, you will shape sustainability strategy development and ensure execution for the product development segment of our overall portfolio. You’ll lead the design and implementation of sustainability solutions and programs for products with cross-functional business partners and sustainability experts. This includes capability development, process/tool incubation (targeted execution), and change management to support full integration of sustainable product development into the business.
You’ll have exceptional cross-functional influencing skills, engineering and product development knowledge and expertise. You are an exceptional communicator and leader who builds strong relationships and collaborates naturally across functions. You are an agile and creative problem solver who gets complex work done and drives organization-wide impact. You are experienced in engineering and product development.

Responsibilities
- Create strategy for the product segment of the Devices and Services sustainability portfolio and contribute to broader sustainability efforts across Alphabet.
- Partner with Engineering, Design, Operations, and Marketing teams to execute sustainable product development strategy and roadmap. Serve as a technical advocate for engineering and sustainability concerns.
- Lead a highly cross-functional and complex portfolio of initiatives that span across Devices and Services, and Alphabet teams to effectively move the organization to intended outcomes. Develop, validate, iterate, and execute programs in partnership with cross-functional business owners.
- Create and manage a roadmap to transform and improve the organization’s performance to success metrics, and develop multi-year roadmap, tools, processes, or other capabilities to support execution and transition responsibility to business.
- Create ongoing communications to amplify the organization’s sustainability efforts to represent our work to internal and external audiences.
