Position Overview:

Summary:

The Sustainability Analyst will work with Plant, Division, and Corporate leadership to collect and act on data to assist in the development of goals and strategies related to sustainability. The Analyst will be an important thought partner and subject matter expert on topics including waste reduction, energy conservation, carbon use reduction, emissions reduction, and water use reduction. This role will be the aggregator of all related data and activities for the PPS Division working closely with plant representatives on data collection and improvement projects. The Analyst will also support the PPS Division commercial teams by responding to sustainability and governance inquiries, and developing customer facing promotional materials. The Sustainability Analyst will also support the investor relations office and participate in industry and trade associations to learn from and present best practices in sustainability on behalf of Greif.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop expertise in the science that supports sustainability and serve as subject matter expert for and on behalf of Greif.
  • Lead the collection and aggregation of sustainability data for the PPS Division and distribute this to stakeholders as needed.
  • Serve as liaison to Greif’s Global Sustainability Team and leadership and support the development of science-based goals and KPIs for the enterprise.
  • Actively participate with industry and trade associations to collect and distribute best practices, monitor emerging trends, and represent Greif as needed.
  • Work actively with the PPS commercial teams to respond to customer inquiries, develop and present sustainability topics and Greif’s sustainability story to customers.
  • Assist in the development, assessment, and prioritization of sustainability investments.
  • Promote Greif’s sustainability story by drafting public communication and making award applications when they are available.
  • Serve as the PPS Division’s single point of contact for customer inquiries on regulatory compliance and product stewardship.

Education / Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business or technical fields of study
  • 5+ years of experience appropriate for the Analyst’s responsibilities

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work independently in addition to thriving in team-based settings
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of analysis tools and techniques
