Position Overview:

YOUR ROLE

• The Safety Health & Environmental Engineer will provide day to day guidance for all safety, health and environmental programs and processes.
• The position will assist the SHE Manager in the coordination and daily management of the facility’s SHE programs for all full-time and temporary associates, as well as contractors and visitors.
• Develops SHE programs and management systems. Contributes to the building of goals/objectives. Reports measures/metrics to location, management, and parent company.
• Conducts weekly, monthly, and annual site inspections and monitoring/sampling for Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, (SWPPP), and air permitting (SPDES). This includes management of our wastewater treatment plant which includes: monitoring programs, 3rd party testing, meetings with the City of Geneva POTW personnel, review of our Industrial User’s Permit, responding to EPA audits, and establishing guidelines for quality.

YOUR SKILLS

• Required education: B.S. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or other related physical sciences.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in SHE activities and responsibilities.
• Knowledge and experience in State (preferably NYS DEC) and Federal OSHA and environmental agency requirements.
