Main purpose for the position

Sustainability is integral to ISS and a key part of our Net Zero 2040 strategy.  The management of global sustainability programs are complex and challenging.  To continue to advance progress towards our goals, we need to drive change and identify the opportunities for further improvements.

This role acts as both a strategic program champion to manage our largest global banking account as well as an interlink to the Global Sustainability strategy, program and tools to secure the overachieving sustainability program algins with corporate sustainability strategy.

You will be the key contact for the global banking account, ensuing that ISS sustainable service offerings and tools are aligned with the client to deliver environmental performance manage the operational environmental programme delivery, including but not limited to; regulatory compliance, delivering against Client targets and KPIs, facilitating global sustainability programmes, develop initiatives and concepts that will deliver on net zero targets across Campus and corporate buildings.

The role will also connect with sustainability & energy leads across the global ISS team to enable key sharing of innovation, which will also benefit our customers and ISS own strategy.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Supporting the Group in developing and implementing sustainable product offers, delivering compliance and providing management support to implement ISS Net-Zero programmes

• Supporting ISS in the achievement of ISS sustainability goals

• Supporting the achievement of client’s accelerated sustainability goals: Implement the set of operational programs that reduce resource use and associated carbon footprint.

• Developing, supporting, and assuring delivery of Sustainability programmes on the account globally. These currently include a Global Energy Optimisation Programme and Global Zero Waste Programme but will expand overtime.

• Managing environmental regional coordinators, consolidate environmental targets and programs, manage and monitor progress through monthly reporting mechanisms..

• Ensuring integration of sustainability principles into all curated experiences

• Coordinating with local facility managers the certification of environmental management systems and ISO 140001, among others and report progress monthly to client

• Contributing and supporting globally established ISS forums and networks to facilitate customer service delivery and drive innovation as a group.

• Facilitating the establishment of a global / region and country green team/ champion network to support Client’s environment programme and objectives.

• Strategically leading and ensuring all relevant Global environmental procedures and compliance are maintained, through leadership of internal audits and assisting with Client-led audits.

• Compiling ISS regional quarterly client compliance report for client performance meetings/sign off.

• Developing and maintain a professional and proactive business relationship with client representatives.

• Developing and appraising the various tools and systems used by the environment team in order to assist the client in meeting environmental targets and creating an efficient work program.

• Promoting ISS, develop services and pursuing opportunities to grow the business.

• Providing recommendations and regular feedback to improve workplace sustainability programs

Your personal and professional capabilities:

• Preferably 7-10 years’ experience in managing environmental programmes with strategic planning and performance management experience

• Experience in systems, data reporting and process management preferable within sustainability sector

• Proven people and team management skill (at least 5 years)

• Extensive knowledge of the major sustainability sector trends, how they impact our clients & how to overcome them with sustainable solutions

• Validated ability to lead collaboration across diverse teams within a large organization and inspire confidence to motivate groups collectively to meet common goal and objects

• Strong business acumen, strategic, quantitative, and analytical problem-solving skills

• Proven ability to understand interdependencies among sustainability data and develop business cases, including financial implications for environmental investments and translate technical facts and figures into business language

• Good knowledge of Environmental & Energy Management Systems (ISO 14001, ISO 50001 As well as experience in using environmental and ESG reporting platforms (e.g., Measurable, Accuvio, Greenstone, Envizi);

• Proven ability to interact with all levels, partnering, facilitating, and influencing and utilizing internal and external resources

• Experience working in a global organisation would be an advantage.  Knowledge of building services and FM is an asset

Skills:

• Analysing data using statistical tools like Microsoft Excel, SPSS and others

• Ability to work under pressure and achieve tight deadlines

• Good level of organisational skills

• Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, employees and teams at all levels
