Position Overview:

The Analyst, Sustainability will be responsible for supporting ESG-related tasks across all business units as requested by the Vice President of Sustainability.

The Sustainability Analyst will be expected to perform a wide-range of activities (listed below), and ideally able to operate independently when needed, with little direction.

Responsibilities

Operations Support

  • Coordinate communications to Commercial Property Management and Residential Community teams, respond to new inquiries and provide materials to assist on property level energy and water consumption and waste diversion trends.
  • Assist with Leasing requests for information on buildings sustainability features
  • Responsible for managing the JBGS Sustainability Inbox
  • Support the development of presentation materials.

Data Management Support

  • Tracking LEED and ENERGY STAR square footage (confirm SF annually)
  • Coordination with 3rd Party Utility Management Vendors (Engie and Conservice)
    • Utility Account Management
    • Jurisdictional Benchmarking
    • External Reporting (GRESB, Annual Sustainability Report)

Certification Support

  • Manage LEED Performance Score projects recertification including:
    • Meet with JBGS property teams
    • Coordinate IAQ and Waste Audits
    • Maintain Energy and Water data
  • Provide account management support for Development Project LEED registrations
  • ENERGY STAR Account Management and annual certifications

Qualifications

  • BA or BS Degree, degree in business, environmental studies, sustainability management, or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in sustainability and/or real estate industry
  • LEED for Existing Building Certification experience
  • ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager experience
  • Utility database management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Excellent communication, writing skills, and good attention to detail.
