The primary purpose of this position is to develop and execute energy and sustainability strategy for the client’s real estate portfolio, implementing programs to reach goals and targets by identified timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop sustainability policies and incentive programs.
  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with client energy and sustainability team to ensure client goals are met and ensure a high level of client satisfaction
  • Manage the day-to-day client relationship of sustainability platform owners.
  • Manage LEED certification process for select client facilities.
  • Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for BAC specific sustainability issues/questions.
  • Provide technical guidance to Facility Management, Project and Engineering teams with regard to sustainability including:
  • LEED Certifications
  • Water Reduction
  • Waste Management
  • Energy Management
  • Assist with the identification and prioritization of energy capital projects, operational changes and physical plant upgrades that result in reduced energy consumption across a portfolio of buildings.
  • Evaluate financial viability of energy and sustainability projects for budgeting approval
  • Identify federal, state and city incentives to drive fiscally-positive energy and sustainability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other Jones Lang LaSalle energy and sustainability managers to learn best practices and publish best practices developed on client account for benefit of all firm clients
  • Advise, coach and support facility management team in identifying, scoping and implementing energy savings and sustainability improvements
  • Participate in Property Platform meetings and conference calls to communicate and coordinate initiatives.
  • Participate in client sustainability strategic platform calls.
  • Coordinate strategic conference calls with regional teams in support of new sustainability initiatives and information gathering.
  • Develop portfolio-wide training and communication of sustainability activities.
  • Communicate sustainability related plans and performance through formal presentations to the client.
  • Support integration of engineering and facility management through special projects as assigned.
  • Support client energy and environmental team to ensure client goals are met.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental or related science
  • Experience managing energy and water reduction, recycling, waste management and green cleaning programs
  • Minimum of 5 years operational and/or facility management services
  • Experience communicating with and presenting information to all levels of management from Facility Manger to Chief Engineer to Sr. Management

Certification and Licenses:

  • LEED Accredited Professional
  • LEED project experience
  • Certified Energy Manager preferred
