Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Sr. Manager – Kohler Stewardship, the Project Leader – Sustainability & Stewardship is responsible for the successful planning and implementation of Social Impact projects. One of the core programs is the Sustainability programming that includes leadership of the global sustainability champions. Role will also have some planning, scheduling, project management tasks required. This position will assist or lead other stewardship programming supporting local community impact.
Specific Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Running the global sustainability champions program. This will include growing the new sustainability champions program globally and meeting or exceeding goals related to associate participation, engagement, and integration of sustainability into their jobs
- Provide administrative support for the Director – IFG & Sustainability
- Project leadership support on an as-needed basis for small scale sustainability projects supporting hospitality and power business units
- Project Leadership support for social impact comms weekly meetings
- Alongside Corporate Communications, assist with tracking marketing/communications strategy
- Position may be expected to assist in other Social Impact activities and projects, as assigned. Projects are typically related to other social impact programs such as:
- Innovation for Good
- Safe Water for All
- Corporate Giving
- Associate Action/BRGs
- Budget – establish budgets, track expenses, allocate funds, develop P.O.’s, able to set budget for sustainability events, track expenditures, allocate funds, P.O.’s, vendors, etc.
- Assist with measurement – Lives Impacted/Tracking/# and level of engagement related to of sustainability champions
Communication and Reporting:
- Drive associate engagement on social impact events and milestones by regularly posting on KohlerNOW and other internal newsletters
- Planning and execution of assigned social Impact events and activities
- Supporting Sustainability Engineering teams on external reporting like CDP, Social Impact report, WaterSense etc.
- Supporting Sustainability teams for internal trainings, hosting occasional lunch & learns as needed
Skills/Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science with a focus on environmental sciences or related field required. Preference will be given to those with advanced degrees or training. Prior experience with leading/coordinating sustainability initiatives in a company and/or experience with leading local sustainability organizations/chapters will be preferred
Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical skills & organizational skills. Interaction with the public demands excellent communications skills and professional disposition. Strong computer skills required (Microsoft Office Products). Self-directed and able to prioritize and achieve results within deadlines. Conducts oneself and manages information in a confidential manner.
Availability: Position is flexible. Hours and location for work are flexible with occasional evening or weekends. Occasional travel may be required.
