Sustainability Program Managers at Lyft deliver solutions to improve the impacts of hardware across the supply chain. They support cross-functional initiatives, leveraging communication and collaboration skills to understand dynamic regulatory, policy, and market requirements. Our SPMs are technically strong with environmental engineering experience across hardware development and facility operations. They develop LCAs for a suite of hardware products, support the improvement of supplier environmental performance, and work with cross-functional teams to identify and integrate sustainable materials into hardware products.
SPMs at Lyft are both strategic and tactical and have the courage to drive material changes with difficult constraints and challenging priorities. They are expected to own sustainability projects and the technical implementation of sustainable material integrations. In addition to the specific applied responsibilities, this position is expected to contribute to the maturity of the overall function. This includes creating and refining processes, tools and templates that can be applied across all initiatives and categories worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Develop solutions and best practices for minimizing the impact of hardware and manufacturing systems on human health and the physical environment across the supply chain.
- Build and update LCA models for hardware and drive change based on results
- Ensure Suppliers are following established minimum standards and identify risk areas in support of supplier selection and supply chain improvement activities
- Lead programs to capture sustainability data and share to cross-functional teams including Transit Partnerships, Product, and Engineering.
- Build strategies to improve environmental performance across all hardware platforms
Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil and/or environmental engineering, chemical engineering, and/or related field
- At least 5 years in Program Management experience and relevant environmental management in materials development or supporting manufacturing facilities.
- Experience interpreting environmental regulations for practical applications
- PE or EIT is a plus
- Knowledge of project management phases is a plus
- External engagement and/or supplier management experience is a plus
