Position Overview:

McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking a full-time Marketing Manager supporting Corporate ESG and Sustainability Communications.  This new hire will work in a hybrid capacity at 215 Schilling Road in Hunt Valley, MD. The Marketing Manager will report to a Chief Communications Officer.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Marketing Manager – Corporate ESG and Sustainability Communications is responsible for strategically developing and delivering McCormick’s Sustainability and ESG communications including the writing and creation of the company’s Purpose-Led Performance report, as well as publishing critical information about McCormick Partnerships with NGOs, Investments, Awards, and updates on Sustainability Progress and Commitments. This role will also be responsible for developing a proactive plan to improve global employee visibility, understanding and engagement in this area.  The Marketing Manager – Corporate ESG and Sustainability Communications will also be responsible for working closely with the PLP Governing Council, Investor Relations, Employee Engagement, the PLP Program Management Office, Corporate Branding, as well as Internal and External Communications COE’s to deliver reporting in this area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for developing and delivering strategic communications related to ESG and Sustainability reporting globally.
  • This role works closely with the VP Global External and CSR, Chief Communications officer, and Chief Sustainability Officer and other stakeholders to deliver accurate, engaging, and timely communications.
  • Responsible for the developing and delivering an employee plan that educates, inspires, and keeps employees engaged in McCormick’s Purpose Led Performance efforts.
  • Works with Internal and External stakeholders as a Communications Advisor on all ESG and Sustainability initiatives.
  • Collaborates and partners closely with the PLP Program Management Office, The Chief Communications Officer, and the Chief Sustainability Officer to align on all initiatives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Communications or Marketing.
  • 7+ years of Communications experience required, with Global reach.
  • Specific Knowledge of Sustainability and ESG reporting.
  • Prior experience in Sustainability/ESG Communications is critical.
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills.
  • High level of interaction internally and externally—collaborates closely cross functional with key stakeholders and engages with Sustainability partners externally.
  • High level of writing and reporting efficiency and understanding of strategic communications.
  • Ability to work effectively globally and across multiple functions and multiple levels required.
  • Must be exceptional strategic thought leader, communicator, and influencer.
  • Experience in Business writing and reporting with strong Business Acumen in the ESG / Sustainability discipline.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration in Communications or Marketing.
  • Experience in strategically developing and reporting ESG and Sustainability topics for a global company or experience in the Consumer Products Industry.
  • Strong overall business acumen and team leadership required.  Ability to collaborate across a global organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal,  leadership, and technical communications skills.
