Position Overview:
To provide support and strengthen Metsä Board’s sustainability image within the Americas market. In this position, you will be responsible that Metsä Board Americas’ is in compliance with local environmental, social and governance practices. As sustainability Specialist you will report to Director of Product Safety and Sustainability. The position is based in Norwalk, CT.
Your role in the future Metsä
Your main responsibilities are:
- Support Metsä Board’s business by providing communication material and answers to sustainability related questions from different stake holder
- Carrying out product specific environmental calculations
- Participate in Metsä Board’s sustainability reporting
- FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody Reporting
- Responsible for customer FSC certification compliance
- Follow-up of overall local and industry sustainability actions & communications Strengthen Metsä Board’s sustainability image in the Americas
- Continuous training of Metsä Board Americas’ personnel about sustainability related topics
- Representing as local presenter in industry conferences
- Contributing to achieving Metsä Board Americas sales targets by participating in customer meetings and events as sustainability expert
What are we looking for?
We expect you to have a four year college degree focusing in Sustainability, Forestry, Energy, Social Sciences, and at least two to four years of experience tasks related to sustainability. Knowledge about sustainability intelligence calculations, reporting and product related life cycle -analysis (LCA) and board manufacturing/forest industry. To be successful in this position you need to have a persistent and logical working style, customer-oriented approach, good communication, networking and co-operation skills. Candidate should have good mathematical skills, long-term focus and ability to master even complex issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. The position will require travelling.
