Mettler Toledo Rainin is looking for a Safety and Sustainability Manager to work with our amazing team of essential workers in Oakland, CA.

Within this role, you will be a key driver in improving the lives of our employees and community through the continuous improvement of our Safety and Sustainability programs. We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative candidate who can help shape and execute our vision to become a global leader in Safety and Sustainability.

Responsibilities would include:

• Maintaining the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) to ensure it complies with all local and federal regulatory requirements.
• Leading the Safety Advisory Team
• Being a key member of the Sustainability Team
• Leading annual site risk assessments
• Coordinating hygiene assessments as required.
• Assisting in identifying, developing, and delivering safety training and training materials as needed.
• Monitoring and communicate safety-related metrics/reports focusing on performance, trends, and improvement opportunities
• Observing and conduct periodic safety audits and behavioral assessments and make recommendations to site leadership
• Tracking investigations and corrective actions associated with incidents and safety audits.
• Ensuring all environmental permit requirements and regulatory reporting are current and compliant.
• Being the primary contact for Environmental, Health & Safety compliance issues.
• Mentoring plant safety committees and chairperson
• Working with plant leadership to improve understanding and promote safety culture

What You Need to Succeed

• A Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of Cal/OSHA Standards and Requirements
• Strong Microsoft Office Skills
• A minimum of 5 years experience in high volume manufacturing environment
• A Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field or position is desired
