Position Overview:
Microsoft has become a corporate leader in environmental sustainability by constantly striving to minimize the environmental footprint of its business operations while maximizing the positive environmental impacts of its products, policies, partnerships and supply chain. As the environmental challenges facing the world grow, so too has Microsoft’s commitment to ensuring that the company’s activities are in-line with the best available science and the expectations of leading stakeholder communities.
The magnitude and speed of the world’s environmental changes have made it increasingly clear that Microsoft must make sustainability a core part of everything it does. In January 2020, the company announced its commitment to be carbon negative by 2030 and followed that announcement with goals for ecosystems, waste, and water.
Microsoft Procurement’s core focus is carbon. We are partnering across our supply chain teams to reduce scope 3 emissions (from our supply chain) by 55% by 2030. As this is a new ambition for the company, our role includes building out new programmatic processes and tools to support both suppliers and the business collectively to achieve this goal.
The Responsible Procurement Team within Procurement Compliance is looking for a Senior Sustainability Compliance Manager to join our team.
Candidates must have a proven track record in program management, process thinking, driving for results, operational excellence, flexibility, collaboration, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, as well as a passion for sustainability.
